The government burned the books so that people can't get more knowledge. The tittle "Fahrenheit 451" is based on the temperature at which the books were burned (although not proven). It was a world with full surveillance from the government and people who doesn't even speak sentences properly. They would just speak like "what?" "huh?" "Quick?" Now that I’m writing about this reflection, I’ve also just realized that I’ve never read an actual book for when I do research. All I had to do was searching up for the information on my personal computer’s browser. Not to mention, nowadays, many people are not getting information by reading from newspaper or magazine. Instead, they are learning about them via television and their personal devices. 

I am still not sure if this is a matter I should be worried about or whether it is going to be a future that I have to fear because these development and advancement are making our lives better. They make it more convenient by allowing us to save a lot of time with just one click away from the information that we want. What’s left is for us to decide whether to believe or not in what. Although the practice of reading an actual book might decrease, we are still able to access our desired knowledge using our developed technology.

1.) How would you compare our world now to the world you have just heard about in Fahrenheit 451?
I think the world we are currently living in has some similarities to that of the world in Fahrenheit 451. Human in the present is going through and the oppression that the government put on the citizen and netizen in order to manipulate the media and their action comparing to Fahrenheit 451 we are facing similar issue. Just like the government in Fahrenheit 451's action to try to eliminate those who have communist sympathy, the government now are silencing those who want to protest and stand for theirs and others' right. 

2.) Are these things we should still worry about today? Is this a future we still have to fear?

The oppression and the control that the government is putting on the citizen have being increasingly concerning predominantly with what type of information people get to see and hear. They are promoting censorship, propaganda, and fabricated news in order to manipulate the citizen to think and act the way they want to.

I was shocked to learn that the censorship of books comes from the people themselves rather than the government. Although if I connect the situation in the book to the author's quote I can speculate that the people were manipulated by the government to start destroying their books.

In our world now people are open to have thought and opinion and we are allowed to share it. We are also educated and have lots of book resources and lots of books to read. But in 451 people are limited with their education so they don't really have an opinion and the culture and wording changed so people don't really know how to express themselves.  
 
2.) Are these things we should still worry about today? Is this a future we still have to fear?
 
What we fear about today is people are spending more time on technology and are less interested in books and literature. There are so many fun things to do on our phone and laptop that don't really teach us anything and people spend their time admiring people with good life and body shape and pretty face and they spend all their time trying to be the same that they forget to value education and how powerful education is.

The government leader in Fahrenheit 451 appears to be scared of rebellion from their citizens, which is why they burn books to remove any source of knowledge, fearing that if their citizens are educated, they will rebel against the leader. In today's world, I believe that the government hides several aspects of the truth from its citizens, such as hiding a book of true histories so that their citizens are unaware of the truth. Furthermore, if people are educated, they have the potential to be killed. To sum up, today's society and the world shown in Fahrenheit 451 are not identical, but they are quite similar in some ways.

-What happened in Fahrenheit 451 is still something we should be concerned about today, and it's also a future we should be afraid of because something in today's world might lead to what we just saw in Fahrenheit 451.

Comparing Fahrenheit 451 to our world is a little difficult because in our modern world, there is a lot of technology going on in each country, the number of books is increasing, and in addition to having a book, we also have an online book where people can read from anywhere, so in conclusion, I believe that this will not be possible in our modern world. For Fahrenheit 451, they have little technology and most of the citizens are reading from a book, therefore if they burn all the books down, there's a good possibility those people didn't acquire an education.

The video mentions communication in which everyone doesn't have much time to spend with each other. Since, everyone is busy with their technology devices. They don't get exposed to real world life on how to value social interaction. I believe that is also a reason why people began to communicate with each other by using short words while they don't really get to interact with each other and don't get a chance to read books. Similarly, in the current world, everyone is kind of getting adapted with social media and other platforms. Sometimes, they forget about the value of social interaction. Thus, one thing, I notice about the way of our communication nowadays is that we start to write short words in the chat. For instance, the word "I don't know" will turn into "IDK".. etc. Furthermore, the society in Fahrenheit 451 and the real world have some similarities. 

- Connecting to the previous answer, the story of Fahrenheit 451 is reflecting on the effect of technology toward society. Actually, we should consider and take what we learn in the Fahrenheit 451 as lessons. We should think about ways that we can avoid before those things can occur in our world in the future. 

Take away from the Intro Slides
I’m fascinated by how Ray Bradbury wrote stories related to the future world. Besides, those stories contain all of the social problems which are related to war, racism, or the dangers of technology, etc.. Besides, I was surprised when he mentioned, “follow order, you will be successful” which indicates that people don’t have education or freedom to make their own decisions for themselves. It reminds me that burning books is similar to destroying knowledge or unlocking opportunities. Since, people don't get a chance to explore and gain new knowledge from reading. Furthermore, he wrote the book of Fahrenheit 451 in 1953 which contains information related to the negative effects of technology. It is similar to what is happening nowadays in our world. Also, when I was reading all the information, I thought to myself that, does he have a special ability to see the future? I’m speechless with the work that he had done.

Although our world are better than Fahrenheit 451, there are still some places that still have situations like what we see in Fahrenheit. "People live in Barren World; empty thought", "Government do not want ideas from citizens", "everything is pretty much about technology" and "writers/artists were being suspected of practicing communist" are some situations that some part of the world are still in. One example is people in North Korea do not have their right and express their ideas; all they can do is listen to their leader; you disobey a rule, you are either in jail or dead. Some other places may also lock up their dark history and secret that they secretly do from their own people. I would say our world and Fahrenheit 451 are pretty similar, but our world may be better than Fahrenheit 451 just because the fact that not everywhere around the world are tainted and being suppress by the government. The things happen in Fahrenheit 451 are already happen in some part of the world that we never know and it may not that massive like them, but we may also face all of these things in the future. Not only that technology are getting advance day by day, but who's know what happen in those user's minds? The other aspect of technology that we should worry is about kids spend their time with their devices more than spend time read books. What if books are forgotten forever, what would happen? When technology are wide spread, what would happen to nature and traditional culture? I fear that one day human do not have control over technology anymore; thus, we're all will be in a critical situation.

F451 Intro:
He were right about a lot of things; rise of violence, the used of surveillance footage for many purposes and grow of illiterate. I want to touch on a little bit about the rise of violence. We had learned about "school shooting" at the last module and I think it's happen frequency. There are news and report about this a lot which I think it kind of magical and mind blowing to see how he wrote story about something and it's actually what really happen in our world. I believe that Fahrenheit 451 is different to our world. One thing I notice is, it's similar to our world is that nobody has a lot of time to spend with each other because everyone is focused on their mobile phone or other devices, talking about the different, people don't have much right and the books are burned to eliminate any source of knowledge.

Nobody has a lot of time to spend with each other since they are focused on their mobile phone or other devices.
In terms of technology, our world is quickly developing. I believe that in the future, there will be new advanced technology that attracts people's attention. As a result, we should spend a limited amount of time with this technology, otherwise, they will lose touch with social interaction in the actual world.

As we can see, the reality that we're living right now is all about technologies and advancement in the technology field. And we can't go back the past but continue to stick with those addictive thing that us human invented. Many people think and believe that technology is the key to build a better future of everything, including book, now a lot of books are available as e-book. It is true that we can easily have access to those and it is also true that we can now have access to any kind of book even if they contain information and perspective toward the government or the leader. So right with that information, we know that the reality that we're living in right now has no limit with what we wanted to learn or explore. As the video continued, there is also this one point where they mention about social interaction between human and human. Despite not having enough time to spend on something else but have a ton of time to spend on those technology devices, people began to use a shorter words and spend less time communicate with each other. Interaction in real life is also less and a lot of that will make people goes insane in someway too. Because people are spending more time on the internet, real life interaction almost never gonna happen during their day and them thinking they should get off their phone or laptop and go back to read some books will also be something that we can never hear and see those people do. And this can be something that we can take into account that the reality of us right now is not that different from Fahrenheit 451. 

- I got both feeling, both worried and not worried. I can see that the technology is development everyday and surely is, they are making life easier and better but with disadvantages including the lost sense of social interaction and many more. All of these can actually happened because of US, ourselves.
