There he and the members had a religion called "Perfect Christian Divine Way." The community had many attractions that were made to lure the passing motorists in the mountains of California. People in the community were divided by sex. The lays of the community were written in crayon. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>George Rapp (1757-1845) was a German Evangelical Lutheran who came to America to escape "Bullying" for his religion, a strain of Christianity that called for conversion from sin, personal communication with God, and the pursuit of perfection. His community never exceeded 800 members. At Harmony, life was strict and difficult. Money Problems made Rapp consider merging with a local Shaker group in 1816, but soon the community developed into a thriving economy trading grain and whiskey. Over time, Rapp grew inconsistent and hypocritical in his decision making, causing several members to leave, until he made his 1st terrible prophecy: on September 15, 1829, the three and one half years of the Sun Woman would end and the Christ would begin his reign on earth</div>]]></description>
