An encouragement to prepare ourselves, care for the flock, and be spurred on by the Spirit

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
- Acts 20:28

Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
- Matthew 10:16-20

Shepherd of the Lost

I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak.
Ez 34:16

Perhaps this is a reminder of the Lord that he intends to shepherd his sheep that has been lost in the faith (specifically this pandemic). The loss of physical church and communities has brought darkness towards God's sheep (Ez 34:12). And God intends to shepherd them back through the mission God has entrusted us in.

As Jesus is our true shepherd ( Ez 34:23) the Lord is reminding us to set our obedience more to Jesus' teachings, and less towards the fear of viruses, political uncertainties, and the spread of evil influence. Let us only fear the Lord, our shepherd. And seek even more to instruct our lives towards the way our shepherd intends us to. Let Jesus be our one and only master, setting our eyes on him (Matt 14:31) and not towards the world's sea and darkness.

As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.
Ez 34:12

And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd.
Ez 34:23

Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Matt 14:31

Generosity Encouraged

Something I heard last Sat's House LD celebration... an exhortation to be like God, a generous Father who created and called men and women to Himself out of His generous love. He called a man named Abraham who likewise was generous in his response to obey God.
I also felt the Lord's continuous call to us in CYA, especially during this time. He has formed and called men and women in CYA over the years to be generous in our response of obedience for such a time as this. We can be generous in our love because we are sons and daughters of our ever generous Heavenly Father.

6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Cor.9: 6-7
