2 THINGS:

• The museum has 29 galleries that display artworks from 19th-century masters, National Artists, and modern Filipino creators, including paintings, sculptures, and religious pieces.

• It is also houses the famous painting Juan Luna’s Spoliarium, a National Cultural Treasure and one of the most well-known paintings in the country.

2 THINGS:

• It is the leading institution for arts and culture in the Philippines recognized globally in promoting artistic excellence and prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusivity in cultural development and art making and appreciation, by 2030.

• Its mission is to promote and preserve the best of Filipino arts and culture by embodying the values of katotohanan (truth), kagandahan (beauty) and kabutihan (goodness).

I also learned from a KWF document that there is no single accepted definition of 'Filipino' as a language, making it a complex topic closely related to the debates about Filipino identity as stated in 'Language Planning and Filipino

On 12 permanent galleries from varying floors show the biological and geological diversities of the Philippines.

It is notable for being the keeper of original copies of Jose Rizal's famous novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.

2 Things I have learned:

• NHCP keeps records of all historical events, even those that most people don’t usually pay much attention to. I tried searching one of the most unacknowledged history-related topic I know, and it showed up, proving that they make sure every part of our history is remembered.

• With that said, I tried searching for Gen. Miguel Malvar, the forgotten president of the Philippines, and learned that he died due to liver disease. Anyway, despite becoming the head of the revolutionaries, his role is still rarely mentioned in common history lessons. Still, to me he would always remain the coolest general our country had.

1.) It manages and develops in the areas of artistic and cultural heritage and natural history, and carries out permanent research programs in biodiversity, geological history, human origins, pre-historical and historical archaeology, maritime and underwater cultural heritage, ethnology, art history, and moveable and immoveable cultural properties.

2.) It implements and serves as a regulatory and enforcement agency with respect to a series of cultural laws, and is responsible for various culturally significant properties, sites and reservations throughout the country.

-I found out that the National Museum of Fine Arts is actually one of the most well-known and popular museums in the Philippines. While I was checking it out online, I saw all these paintings that really tell stories about our history, traditions, and big moments in the country.

-And you know what’s cool? Even just through the website, I got to see the works of General. Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, and Carlos “Botong” Francisco. How truly legendary they are in shaping Philippine arts and culture.

2 things I've learned:

• I found out that the National Library began in 1887 and now it's 100 years old! It started with only about a hundred books, kept for people to learn and read from. Over the years, it grew bigger and collected many more books, documents, and important records. Now, it is the country's main library and plays an important role in keeping and protecting the history and culture of the Philippines

• I also learned that during World War II, the National Library lost most of its collection :( But it was able to save some of the country's most valuable treasures, like the original manuscripts of José Rizal's Noli Me Tangere, El filibusterismo, and his poem Mi último adios. These works were carefully protected and kept safe, even in the midst of war.

1. The National library in the Philippines was established as the Museo-Biblioteca de Filipinas on August 12, 1887, through a royal decree issued by the Spanish government.

2. The national library is known for being the repository of original copies of José Rizal's Noli Me Tangere, El Filibusterismo and Mi último adiós.

• I found out that the National Museum of Natural History is one of the best places to learn about the wildlife and environment of the Philippines. While exploring it online, I saw many animals, plants, and natural places that are unique to our country, like dinosaur bones, butterfly collections, and more.

• From the dinosaur bones, I learned that long ago, different animals lived in the Philippines. These fossils help us understand what the country was like many years ago. It was really interesting to learn about the past by looking at these ancient bones.

I learned that National Planetarium was established on September 30, 1975 under the management of the National Museum of the Philippines through Presidential Decree No. 804-A, signed by President Ferdinand E. Marcos. They undergone renovations many times due to the earthquake and from the construction of the Rizal Park Open-Air Auditorium.

I also learned that while they are renovating the National Planetarium they also upgrading it and adding new shows.

2 things I’ve learned:

1.) It is home to an extraordinary collection of Philippine art, featuring remarkable artworks by Filipino artists that reflect the nation’s culture, traditions, and values. Each artwork tells a story about the Filipino experience, showcasing the creativity and talent that make the country’s artistic heritage unique.

2.) It is also an important place that preserves and promotes the Philippines’ valuable works of art. Through its exhibitions, educational programs, and conservation projects, the museum ensures that the beauty and meaning of Filipino art continue to inspire, educate, and be appreciated by future generation

• It is the Philippine government agency responsible for promoting Philippine history and cultural heritage through research, preservation, and historical education.

• It manages and preserves national historical sites, landmarks, and shrines across the country.

2 things I have learned:

1.) The National Historical Commission of the Philippines doesn’t just take care of history but it also helps protect the animals in nature in places where there’s a lot of wildlife. The NHCP takes care of some historic places that are also home to many animals. They protect not just the buildings, but also the nature around them. I also learned that the NHCP takes care of many museums where we can see real objects from the past.

2.) The NHCP is maintains and manages the importance of the national shrines, monuments, and museums across the Philippines because these places keep important objects, documents, and artworks that help people learn about our his

tory.

I learned that NCCA is the one that's responsible in funding and handling activities that implement cultural promotion and preservation.

1.National archives of Philippine holds a vast collection of documents, including over 13 million Spanish-era records, and a total of 60 million cataloged public documents

which spans centuries with some dating back to the Spanish colonial period, specifically to the time of Miguel López de Legazp.

2.I also learn that it is the main agency in the Philippines that collect, store and preserve our history to make it available in the future if needed and is the primary records management agency which is tasked to formulate and implement the records schedule and vital records protection programs for the government.

The the national museum of fine arts showcases and preserves the art piece of our Filipino artists whom painted and crafted not only their art, but also the history of our country and their experiences! Every art work is unique and meaningful.

The museum serves as a house or a story book that serves as a place for treasure of the key events of our history, our struggles, experiences and endurance of our Filipino ancestors. This helps us visualize and understand our nation’s journey. 🇵🇭🏛️

It serves as an archive of information on astronomical knowledge and is open to everyone who wishes to learn or is interested in the scientific study of the universe.

CCP’s mission is to promote and preserve the best of Filipino arts and culture thats why they still continue to expand the reach of its programs to discover new artistic talents and excellence, to enhance interest and appreciation of Philippine arts.

Not only that, The museum comprises 29 galleries and hallway exhibitions which covered a wide-range of styles, coming from 19th century masters to modern Filipino artists! This place holds practically different forms of art as well! Which includes paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and photographs.

- The National Museum of Anthropology in Manila was officially opened on June 12,

1998. Originally constructed by the Canadian-American architect Ralph Harrington Doane between 1916 and 1918. After suffering damage during World War IT's Battle of Manila, the building was restored in 1949 while retaining its original five-story structure.

- The cultural and archeological legacy of the Philippines is currently protected by the National Museum of Anthropology. It features the artwork, traditional attire, tools, and relics that illustrate the richness of Filipino culture. And in order to help everyone understand and value the nation's rich past, the museum provides educational events and exhibitions for the general public.
