I watched a video about Microsoft Windows 10 on YouTube called “Windows 10 review” by The Verge posted on July 28^th, 2015. The creator of the video mentioned that “Widows 10 is mostly about fixing the mess that Microsoft created with Windows 8” (Verge). One example of this was how Microsoft put Windows 8 and Windows 7 to create a new version of the start menu but stayed true to the original designs. One thing I learned was screen recording on the Xbox app. This was interesting to me because I am only play Xbox and will never switch to PlayStation, I knew I could stream to my computer and use OBS software to record my gameplay but using the Xbox apps screen recorder I am able to cut out having to download OBS and not have to have a background app running while I am streaming to my computer to record. I would definitely recommend this video to other people because if you are a new Windows user or are a long-time user of Windows you may not know these things about the software. Another reason I would is because he explains how to use features like Cortana and a few tricks you can use on Microsoft browser Edge such as searching for weather and showing that you can draw on web pages and you can send screen shots of the web pages to people. He also briefly goes over using a tablet that runs on widows 10, but he also gives a few examples of bad things about Windows 10 such as download folder loading speed, audio not working or apps crashing. This was a well written video that helps cover the main parts of Windows 10 with a quick over view of many of the features of it.

 The key contributors and authors are, Dona Sarkar and Brandon LeBlanc. This is the insiders look into the new GUI for windows ten users to see if the features are good improvements. Such features include; the mouse showing tool tips when hovering over the different colored options, a bug fix to the narrator for the visually impaired, and in fixing an issue where, if your computer supported Wi-Fi and you had the Performance tab set as default in Task Manager, on Task Manager launch, the Wi-Fi section in the Performance tab would appear to be selected, but the details displayed would be for the CPU section. 

What I learned from this blog post is that the new Windows OS will feature quite a lot of changes and fixes for the narrator so that it can be more useful. Hopefully these changes are not met with more bugs. I would recommend others to read this blog post as well as other blog posts made by the website, as it will keep you informed not only on what changes are coming to the OS, but also what bugs Microsoft has already been made aware of.

·         What I learned from reviewing this blog post is that I am able to change the theme of my File Explore page to make it more appealing to my eyes, or if I want to see  more darker colors. I also learned how I am able to change the theme of my File Explore if I wanted to see more grey tones on my screen. 

·         I would recommend others to read this blog post because many computer users have a hard time looking at a computer screen for too long. Reading this blog post will allow many users to know about the recent change there has been to File Explore and they can change the computer theme if it has not been updated yet.

·         I learned that Linux runs programs with a thing called the Linux Kernel that allows it to controls all the programs that are happening on the computer. Also, many server companies use Linux to run their servers because it is no as heavy as Windows OS. 

·         I would recommend Linux to others that want more control over their PC. Linux provides a more customization than Windows with the sacrifice of a smoother user interface. Linux is not for everyone, those whom have a background in computer programming will enjoy the flexibility that this OS offers. However, the beginner that has a hard time opening the calculator on the standard Windows OS should find other alternatives. This video presents all the information needed about Linux and allows the viewer to make the decision to switch their OS. 

 

This blog briefly compares the safety threats concerning the iOS and Android operating systems. I learned that even though both systems are continuously upgrading their security features, Android systems are overall more exposed to malware attacks due to a larger user base, device fragmentation, and loose app store regulations.  would recommend others to read about the topic in general because sometimes we don’t realize the extent of safety threats that can occur through our phones.

I definitely would recommend the video for anyone using windows 10. I’ve been using windows 10 for about a year, and I still learned a little more than I knew before. Such as, reducing the blue light on your screen. Which studies claim to help you sleep better. Also, changing the window setting to make your user experience a pleasant one.

 Microsoft caught a security threat that occurred from an attack on user’s privacy via coders through a third party vendor, Huawei. Microsoft Defender ATP was recently upgraded by the company and ultimately stopped the threat from becoming out of control. As a result, Microsoft has decided to quit updating Windows 7 to further protect users from these security threats. This blog has opened my eyes to the fact that choosing a trusted operating system is important because the company will do all it can to protect users from vulnerabilities and therefore makes a good read for Microsoft system users.

Jay States that there is really only two options, upgrade to the latest version of macO, then install the version of macOS that still receives security updates, or use a third party utility to install the most recent macOS on you laptop, although apple doesn’t officially support it. He continues to list third party sites like Mojave that will aid in updating your Mac to the latest macOS. I would defiantly recommend this blog to someone with an older Mac because the information could really helpful in keeping your Mac up to date and secure, without spending at least a $1,000 on a new Mac.

They are innovating a new embedded world of Windows IoT for devices. This enables the device to develop solutions towards low powered devices and servers. Windows IoT has new capabilities such as Azure IoT edge, Device agent, and robot operating systems on Windows. With Azure IoT edge, it allows customers to download cloud applications and services.  Azure edge device agents allows customer to manage and monitor their device freely from their Azure dashboard. Robot operating systems also includes hardware- accelerated Windows machine learning, computer vision, Azure cognitive service, and turnkey connections to Azure. 

I would recommend it to other because this allows users to find an easier way to use Windows IoT and find solutions towards low powered devices and servers. It also enable high capacity storage and compute scenarios between Cloud and Edge.

The blog was posted by Business Insider and actually gives information on major complains about design inconsistencies and buggy updates. I would recommend this video to anyone that has always used windows for years over time. Using windows over time and actually reviewing this video allows me to really compare previous updates and designs to what we have now for windows. From basing the operating systems for touch screens to mixing previous updates together, you really start to find out windows is all over the place in some aspects. In the video you even see a post finding 11 different styles across Microsoft’s core apps. I would recommend this video to any usual windows user to really look in depth to each windows update.
