Hello! My name is Mikayla and this is my second year at WVVA. I've been trying to think about a unique experience or talent I have that's shaped who I am today but I drew a blank so I'm just going to throw something out there.

I believe I have always been compassionate, whether you think this is a unique experience or not is totally up to the viewer but I've always wanted people to suffer less and have been the one taking care of others issues. It makes me happy, at least it did. I've realized that always being there for others leads to some of them taking advantage of me and when i can't always be of help/ have other things going on they get mad at me. This has lead me to see that there are certain people that don't deserve my help. I shouldn't be as generous as i am to others because it takes away from myself and I deserve to have time to myself instead of fixing everyone else's problems, I should be my priority. (of course there are some things i left out because i didn't want to draw this out but i gave the gist)

On a lighter note i run XC for my brick and mortar school and play the violin. I'm in my senior year and kind of don't want it to end. I'm going through my 'I don't wanna adult yet' phase but my 18th birthday is next week..

Hello! My name is Amiah Merrifield, this is my second year at WVVA. I collect figures, CDs, and manga and my other hobbies include drawing and writing. I just turned 18 on Saturday (8/23). I have always had a deep appreciation and (I suppose) talent in art. It has always been a huge influence in my life--my hobbies are collecting it and creating it, and they always have been. Around the time that covid hit, as well as around the time schools begin pressuring kids to figure out their future, I dropped it almost entirely. I saw it as a worthless skill and something that would get me nowhere in life, so I began to focus on other things. It wasn't until the end of 9th grade I began to pick it back up again. I realized that maybe, just maybe, everything I did in life didn't have to have value for my future. I can be unsure of what I wanna do in my life, I can take my time to move forward and grow, and I can indulge in things that may seem pointless or a waste of time. In the end, I'll die just like everyone else, so maybe things aren't such a huge deal.
