In 1866, he founded the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®.

The ASPCA uses pathos in many of its advertisements, because it is very effective. When you see an animal in very poor conditions it makes you have a bad gut feeling like you need to help in any way you can.

Once you've had an animal they become part of your family and are like having kids. They can't talk like humans but sometimes are the best friend or support you could need and they all deserve a fair chance at a good life.
