What are some concerns you have about American Literature this year?

I am worried with what period this is, I will miss too much with softball and get behind.

2. What is something I need to know about you as a learner that would help you?

I struggle reading without listening to a book online. It makes it easier for me to follow along and comprehend.

3. Tell me one thing about your personality that will help me understand you a little better.
I am a good listener, who works hard and turns things in on time. I don't like expressing my own opinion in front of a lot of people.

1. He is recording stories to pass them down the line generation to generation to remember and learn things from the past.
2. These stories and videos teach the younger generations. These videos are for people to learn.
3. I believe his speech is to persuade us to write things down and talk about them. But I also think it is to inform us of how this hasn't been happening in the past and it needs to happen now.

1. Yes I do think the people in this video are biased. It is leaning more towards the name needing to be changed, mostly by the Native American people. They have been fighting to change the name for years and the video shows that.

2. In my opinion I don't think that the name should have been changed. I can also see how it can be offensive but it was taken too far in my opinion. I think that when society changes their opinion on something like the name of an NFL team it can be a big deal especially when other people don't agree.

What are some daily habits someone could do to eventually become a successful, happy person?

Some daily habits to stay happy include, saving money, good hygiene, having a clean home, getting school work done.

Where did you learn this information? Have you seen it work for other people? Has it worked for you?

I learned this information from my parents. This has worked for them and it is working for me so far.

Anne Bradstreet did not want any fame. It caused major conflict between her being a poet and a puritan. It was odd for her to be famous as a poet because she did not want fame. She found it embarrassing. She enjoyed writing about her family but did not seek fame from it or for it to even be published.

His writing style was different and had no real structure. He wrote about the war when no else had. He had ideas about slavery, as well as immigration and women's rights, and he wrote about it.

A metaphor is an indirect comparison

An extended metaphor is used throughout poems not just in one line.

My homework is a never ending pile of rubble. It builds and builds until it can't any more. Once the pile falls, the cycle starts over again.

It shows us that the devil and associations with the devil were used commonly throughout literature back then.

I believe that people started to write about bad characters because it was easier to create a story on someone bad.

In the realism painting the lady is dressed professionally. In the romanticism painting the lady is dressed more comfortable. In the realism painting the lady looks sad and in the other she looks happy.

The romantic elements in the photo is the bright lighting that is really unrealistic and brighter colors, as well as the uncomfortable posing.

One defining difference between realism and romanticism is the quality of the painting. The romanticism one looks more hazily, while the realistic one looks like it has lots of thought out detail.

Freedom/Self
This theme best fits the story because of how Louise feels after learning of her husbands death. She describes herself feeling free. She now has time for herself and things that she wants to do, and she like the feeling of that.

Women started work the jobs that were "made for men," while they were at war. This helped over 10 million women become part of the workforce. Schools changed and offered new classes. This caused an increase in enrollment. New things were being made so that people didn't have to actually do.

Women could work if they wanted to. Children were allowed to study what they wanted to study in school.

The birth rate was going down. There was less consumers.
