How they had the ability to revolt against the government if the government was going against the people. From the Rights of Man, in article 6 it says, "Law is the expression of the general will" and in The Declaration of Independence, it says "That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish." In the Articles of the Declaration of the Rights of Man, a few of them were similar to some of the amendments. For example it states "As all persons are held innocent until they shall have been declared guilty," . Also "Every citizen may, accordingly speak, write, and print with freedom..." this is similar to the first amendment. Adding on, the preamble of the Declaration of Independence greatly stresses that whenever the people don't agree with the government, they have the right to overthrow it.
