How to Enter
Upload your class’ creative submission to this Padlet. Your students can welcome the elephants in any way they like:

• Artwork (drawings, paintings, digital designs)

• Videos (songs, performances, welcome messages)

• Creative Writing (poems, stories, letters to the elephants)

• Signs and Banners

• Dioramas (mini elephant enclosures or habitats)

• Dance (choreographed routines)

We hope our message helps the elephants feel right at home.

The students were thrilled to learn about the elephants moving to Werribee Zoo so they could roam freely as this aligns more closely with elephants natural habitats and increases their chance of survival.

6B students have trunk loads of talent when it comes to drawing!

Each letter was filled with bright colours, patterns, and elephant-themed drawings to celebrate the arrival of the elephants to their new home at Werribee Zoo. This cheerful artwork shows our excitement and love for these amazing animals!

This was made by an incredible year 8 student - Amy. Amy is an amazing dedicated student, who spends her time supporting the development of our conservation program and caring for our insects and reptiles. She is so passionate about animals and the environment and such an awesome example to our other students!

We hope the elephants enjoy their new home in Wyndham at Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Erik Carle  and his book’ 123 To The Zoo!’The  Foundations have been reading a lot  of  his books such as  The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Grouchy Ladybird and  from head to toe. We have been working hard on this because it means so much to us, especially the Foundations. We have made an animal from each section of the zoo. These are the animals that we have made: Butterflies, Gorillas, Red Zebras ,a Python, Red Pandas, Japanese Koi Fishes, Limas, and penguins.

If  you check you will find one animal from every section of the zoo, making it a complete map of the zoo. 

Summary:  The Melbourne Zoo is a place of wonder, creativity, exploration and discovery leading kids down a path of love for animals and nature!!!!!!

Living about three and and half hours away (some four or five hours away) from Melbourne, the majority of Horsham Special School students have not yet experienced the absolute joy, delight, awe and wonder of seeing beautiful elephants in real life. I don’t think we would be able to wipe the smiles off their faces if they won! It would be an absolutely unforgettable experience for them to see the elephants in their AMAZING new home at Werribee Zoo.
