• I think Dune is the one example where human lives in harsh enviroment. Arakis is a desert planet, human should live in constant heat. But people of Arakis thrive with the environment, they never do activity at noon, because the heat would be unbearable for human. Also advanced technology, such as suit that can regulate water in the body, recycle them, supported live in Arakis. Like when the main character try to survive on the desert of Arakis, they use suit to supply they water resources by recycling water produced by their body.

try to think about the movie avatar. in that story, humans destroyed their own planet and then tried to take over Pandora. the scariest part wasn’t the aliens, it was the humans. bcs they looked just like us: greedy, restless, never satisfied.

if we keep living this way, Earth won’t need volcanoes or ice ages to become extreme. We will make it extreme by draining its forests, drying its rivers, and silencing the very heartbeat of our planet.

one day, our children might only see pictures of Earth the way we saw Pandora magical alive and wonder: “why did we destroy the only home that ever loved us back?”

So yes, human activity can make Earth extreme. but the real question is: will we be wise enough to stop before it’s too late?

what we can do then? in avatar, the solution is to live in balance with nature, not against it. we must protect our forests the way the Na’vi protected the Tree of Souls. We should take only what we need, not everything we want. And most of all, we must remember that Earth, just like Pandora, is not a resource to exploit, it is a family to belong to.

As I read in the Google. In Waterworld (1995) movie, the Earth becomes an extreme environment because the ice caps melt of global warming. After that, almost everything is covered by water. People have many problems, such as not enough food, fresh water, and they often fight each other for resources. To survive, humans live on boats or floating cities, and some keep searching for a safe place to live. This shows how human actions can damage the Earth and force people to find new ways to survive.

2. I want to talk about Mickey 17. Mickey is a human who can be reborn again and again for scientific purposes. (So Mickey was sent to explore a strange place, where he died for the sake of other humans.) One day, Mickey 17 met a strange creature, and they saved him. However, the scientists had already created a new Mickey, called Mickey 18.

In this story, the world has become extreme because of human greed and ego. The environment is destroyed by deforestation, exploitation, and selfishness, and instead of learning from their mistakes, humans keep repeating them. At the end, because of the leader’s ego, they wanted to destroy the creatures who actually tried to save Mickey. A fight broke out, the leader died, and Mickey became the president—a reminder of how destructive human ego can push the world into chaos. Mickey realizes that the real solution is not to keep exploiting the environment, but to cooperate with nature and protect it for the future of humanity.

I know one movie that talks about this is Plastic Island (Pulau Plastik). I read about this film on Google. This is a 2021 movie and the problem in this movie is plastic pollution in Indonesia. Plastic is everywhere like in the ocean, in rivers, and even in food that people eat. To solve this problem, three people a musician, a biologist, and a lawyer work together to fight plastic waste and teach people to change their habits. One scene shows the ocean full of plastic trash, which makes us feel sad and realize how serious the problem is. This movie teaches us that the solution is to start with small actions, like using less plastic, recycling, and caring more for nature, so that Earth will not become an extreme environment.

1. Will human activity eventually turn the whole Earth into an extreme environment? Why or why not?

Yes. In Black Panther, the danger of human activity is symbolized through the exploitation of vibranium, Wakanda’s natural resource. Outside nations want to mine and weaponize vibranium without care for nature or balance. This reflects the real-world issue that greed and overexploitation of natural resources can damage ecosystems, pollute the environment, and even lead to wars. If such practices spread globally, Earth could become an extreme environment where natural resources are destroyed.

2. What is the problem and how to survive?

Movie name: Black Panther

The problem shown in Black Panther is the threat of environmental destruction from resource exploitation. Vibranium, if misused, could harm both people and nature. The way to survive is through responsible stewardship of resources: Wakanda chooses to protect vibranium, use it wisely for medicine and technology, and later share knowledge with the world in a controlled way. This teaches that survival comes from balancing progress with environmental protection, not exploiting nature recklessly.

This idea is strongly depicted in the film The Day After Tomorrow (2004) that I've read the synopsis, where human-caused global warming leads to the melting of polar ice caps, which in turn triggers sudden extreme climate changes such as superstorms, massive floods, and freezing temperatures that make much of the planet uninhabitable. In the story, the main character, Jack Hall, struggles to save his son trapped in disaster-stricken New York, while scientists and governments work together to rescue survivors, provide shelter, and find safer areas for people to live. The resolution emphasizes global cooperation and the urgent need for humans to take responsibility in preventing such disasters in real life.

I have seen a movie about how humans change the world, so this movie talks about Akagami Senku's story. He is a young and genius scientist when his world suddenly changes. All of the humans turned into stone after a beam light that showers the earth. After millions of years of humankind turning to stone, the Earth returns to its pre-human state. The main character awakens and attempts to rebuild human civilization using science. With science, senku rebuilt civilization and found out the cause of the phenomenon, which turned out to be caused by human selfishness with his discovery. Science has managed to turn the entire earth into a mess and return it to wilderness, but it has also given the earth time to recover. Senku tries to build a new, better civilization and not destroy the earth based on science.

It exposes the dark side of Indonesia's coal mining, how the mining fuels the electricity but at the cost human lives(some citizens died because of asthma and children died because they swim in the contaminated water), environments (air pollution and water pollution), and local communities. It also highlight political connections (Jokowi Family & Luhut Family) behind this mining. So, it is easier for the company to break the rules of 'safe mining'.

4. Some of the local in the movie said that The company has to Obey the rules of 'safe mining' and try not to pollute the environment. In the other hand, the director of movie have the opinion that the solution is to stronger the regulations by giving public pressure to those 'strong families'.

2. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. So it's about the Pearl tribe; it's like a tribe from another planet. And then there's the general who is destroying their planet during a human military operation. Then Mayor Valerian and his cooperative sergeant, Laureline, try to find the reason. In the end the mayor and the sergeant confront the general and help the pearl tribe to recover their planet. They creates a new home.

Honestly, i never watch documentary movie about this issue. I just think that maybe finding nemo can be related with this case. This movie shows human activity such as overfishing, pollution, capturing marine for aquarium that disturb the ocean ecosystem. I think those activities can harms the balance of the ecosystem. To solve this problems, we can give education about this case through the movie or any fun way, reduce ocean pollution, protect marine & coral life.

1. Yes I agree with the statement that human activity will change the earth into an extreme environment. There are a lot of human actions which endanger our planet. For example, the use of smoky vehicle and cutting trees that will lead to global warming. Also, littering plastic and toxin on the ocean will destroy marine ecosystem. If humans continue these activities, our earth might change into an extreme hot planet since the ozone which protect us from the sunlight gradually disappear.

2. Movie: The Martian (2015)

This movie is about an astronaut Mark Watney who is left behind by the crew after a dangerous mission. Other astronaut think that he's died. But actually, he is alone on mars without food, water, or even Oxygen. He can't also contact the earth and the temperature is really cold. Mark Watney overcome it by utilizing his knowledge and skills as a botanist and engineer. He build system to create water. Beside that, he grows potato with water he made, soil, and his own waste as the fertilizer. Moreover, he also try to fix the communication equipment in order to contact NASA.

2. For example, In movie suzume, where a large-scale earthquake caused by giant worms that hid in the other world and appeared on one of the open, open doors. A lack of doorknobs like souta caused giant worms to uncontrollable and cause large earthquakes and environmental damage.

The solution is to close the door suzume must find a key rock that has changed shape and then expressed the mantra not only that is the final solution provided from this movie, namely cooperation that is not only done by one person but also the role of cats, daijin and saidajin.

Honestly, i never watch documentary movie about this issue. I just think that maybe finding nemo can be related with this case. At the end, nemo can meet the father it shows action returning animal back to the habitat.
