I am studying M.A. in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling

My personal goal is to learn more about crisis and trauma to help those I love and see signs and symptoms in others I may come into contact to.

My professional goal is to become a better clinician and when I finish my master’s to hopefully get promoted.

In the course I hope to be able to talk about trauma from a better-informed point of view.

Week one has been a mix of reviews of some things I already know, which is not a bad thing and a mix of new things that I have learned. Some of the reminders that helped me reignite my passion is the statistics especially in our youth. A quick example is from NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health Illness) stated “50% od all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14.” On the other hand, a weakness I have has been shown to me and that is using technology specifically making the Padlet. It probably took me longer than necessary to create but working on my weakness is a good way to grow.
