         <description><![CDATA[<div>Passed in 1933, the AAA was a federal law that was part of the New Deal. It reduced agricultural production by paying farmers not to farm on part of their land and to kill extra livestock. It was supposed to eliminate the production of surplus crops which would in turn raise the value of crops again. </div>]]></description>
