But this does not expand far enough to support the substantial amount of homeless people in our world today. The current president has created a budget in order to assist the millions of struggling families. Unfortantly this budget isn’t only doing good it has negative effects; some of the policies for the budget are making it difficult for low to moderate income people to have Medicaid coverage. However, in other countries such as Finland the government there has made a larger effort to lesson their homelessness percentage. The country used a “Housing First” method. With the rising cost of houses, people are finding themselves unable to financially stabilize them and their families. Also, about 5% of people in the US are unemployed. With high levels of unemployment, people are not able to pay for everyday necessities such as food, water, and clothes. Next, about 12.3% (39 million) of the population live in poverty due to unclean water. Usually families have from 111 days to 12 months before getting evicted. However, if the. family recently became unemployed then institutions may give them closer to a year to pay the mortgage or at least part of it. Furthermore, missing a mortgage isn’t taken lightly and eventually will lead to being evicted even if you are unemployed. These organizations try to create a safe community to raise these teens and support them in ways their family could not. There are organizations helping by initiating local support groups to professionals teaching these teens how to succeed and make a living. There are also organizations to help people from ages thirteen to twenty-five to adjust to alternate living arrangements.
