when I think of eye contact, I think of public speaking however it's used every day and usually most jobs need to know how well you are at retaining someone's attention even down to fast food or retail.

listening

we talked about seeing if you can retain someone's attention with eye contact, however, the boss also needs to see can you follow directions and are you staying focused, since listening also comes with responses, are you able to follow along so you can respond with something that has meaning to the topic on hand.

fidgeting

depending on the job most bosses want to see how nervous you get when talking to them or even customers on your first day, whether you're in foods, retail, or even something higher up like sales. You can't be twitching and crawling out of your skin stay confident and focus on what you are doing and what the tasks are for the day.

knowing things before hand

don't be on your phone unless you're looking at dates for work, know what the job is before going in, depending on what the job is, have experience or know genres before going in. for example, if you're working as a catty driver at a country club know golf know average pars look for meters of course and fair way so the golfers have confidence that you have been out there, and they can trust you with their equipment.

present yourself appropriately

you want to enter the room appropriately if it's a higher paying more professional job show up in a suit or dress, if it's at a bar wear business casual to casual depending on the quality of bar or if it's a bar and a restaurant, at any job dont show up smelling bad! This is a big no! Don't let them think you put no effort in for them even if the job is just to hold you over and pay bills. If that is the case at least be introduced to the company like you care for it to some regard.

acting

I used multiple different jobs for this board since as an actor I don't show up to the same kind of job interviews they are all different and I wear different clothes and have to act completely different for all of them, and whether or not they are in person or it is a virtual my job isn't just one person, it's a plethora.

adjusting to the camera

I have done acting work where I didn't say a line it was completely nonverbal, and it is sometimes harder and sometimes easier depending on the role and how much the character has built up inside them. A main issue I see with actors is scattiness people get scared of looking directly at the camera, so they look left or down or even up. If the character is listening then just listen.
