Inside of the Iris I have a dandelion and its seeds are blowing off of the eye. I really wanted to make my work seem calm and peaceful and I think I was able to create that. I was really proud of the shading around the eye since it looks realistic. I thought I could work more on the shading on the sclera, especially with darker values. For this project, I decided to go for a prejudice/injustice theme, and I chose Native Americans. The symbolism in this is that there is the North Dakota pipeline, and it is spilling over the side out the eye. Then, there is representation of the trail of tears in the pupil, and trees in the sclera to represent nature based Native American culture. Some things I think I could work on is adding highlights to the oil. My eye represents a flower, inside the iris I drew a small flower and shaded it black around the flower. In between the eyelashes of my eye I drew little petals of a flower and I shaded it dark to light. The bottom part of my eye are big flower petals and they are also shaded dark to light. Inside the eye there are 2 little flowers. One thing I like about my piece is the shading on the petals. I chose the book because I love reading and learning new things, and I chose the flowers because I enjoy being in nature. I think the shading on the spine of the book and flowers is one of the best parts of my artwork (you can't really see it in this picture, sorry!). I think the concept of my piece was pretty nice, and I drew the two pokemon pretty well. If I had to improve things for next time, I would make the shading better, especially in the eye itself. I decided to use pupil to represent the sun and the lines to coming out from it to represent the sun light. (I used eraser for the sunlight.) I utilize the sclera to draw the clouds and continued the spread it across the upper eyelids. My main idea was the Google logo and the plan was to incorporate eyes into the logo. One thing I'm proud of is how the eye shape turned out and the first pupil in the second 'o'.
