I'd say that as long as I'm not in a situation where I can't listen to music i probably am doing so. I wouldn't say that I have any one favorite genre. I like pretty much all music. My favorite genre at the moment right now is emo rap. I really enjoy the way the mixture of rock and rap fit together. Its a nice change of pace by combining to genres which are very different. For example rap culture glorifies things like sex, drugs, and money the emo/punk genre really emphasizes sadness and teenage angst. Being a very angsty teen in middle school and early on in high school I really felt a connection to the emo/punk genre, as well as listening to rap because it was what my friends were listening to. So these to genres really helped me through tough times and were a huge role in shaping me during high school. Music to me is another ay of self expression. 99.99% the music I'm listening to is a direct reflection of my current mood, when I'm sad, my music is sad.
