In Australia, we have a week called book week where kids dress up as book characters one day and have a parade and activities that surround literacy and reading.

Sustainability lessons based on whole school projects like uniform

Primary school classes could count the different types of uniform or size we have and use it for maths, addition/subtraction

Older primary kids could work out how much money we make

Secondary kids could look at what is in each type of uniform and why that is chosen a bit about cotton, where it comes from and how it's grown

Older secondary kids could learn about slavery risks in uniform and clothing or look at refuse, reuse, recycle, recover and decide what is best to do where we have too much uniform

The UN CCA could look at textiles in Vietnam and around the world etc

Partnership projects with Vietnamese schools in areas where they need help eg after the typhoon

Last year surplus uniform was donated to a partner school in Sapa, the Students have a partnership to help a school in the mountains etc.

It would be good to do more outreach with these schools to see what they, and their communities need that we could support, eg do they want parents to do some online English language support? Etc

A lot of working parents can't make weekdays but if the school is open for CCA on a Saturday could we have a friend's of bis meeting once or twice a year then?

School support to coordinate aid response to Yagi with FoBIS help

People are loosing everything to the floods. Can school coordinate with its community aid partners and FoBIS drive to get the aid they require. The aid partners can tell us what they need and we can organise collections and donations to support logistics..eg do they need water, noodles, inflatable boats etc or so will the kids who lost homes need clothing, toys, learning materials etc to replace what they lost?

There are local aid efforts in place, including government aid, but as a non Vietnamese speaker I don't understand which are the correct charities/government bodies and what they want and how to get it to them
