He goes to trace middle and on a bus ride there he sees a boy running on the side of the bus. He then goes on to try and find out who this boy is, taking him on a journey. Roy will see that there's a lot more to Florida than he thought. I love the way the author narrates the story showing different perspectives of a situation. My favorite character is Roy because I can relate to him. He is learning to use his heart and mind together to make good decisions instead of just using one or the other. I am trying to do the same thing in my life.

I also love the part of the book where Roy stands up to his bully Dana. I like this quote because I can relate to it because I've been to a few schools and I was always the new kid sitting by myself not wanting to talk to anyone.
"There, standing by the hole and peering curiously at one of the meatballs, was the smallest owl that he had ever seen.
Mullet Fingers chucked him gently on the shoulder. "Okay - now do you get it?"
"Yeah," said Roy. "I get it." pg 124. This quote is important because this is where Roy makes his decision to help Mullet fingers help save the owls.
