(a) It would be a useful means of transportation. With an increasing global environmental awareness, it has become highly encouraged to turn to alternative forms to commute that do not require fuels to run on. A bicycle leaves a smaller carbon footprint than a car would, and also takes up less space and is easier to use both on pavements and the road.
It would be useful as cycling is a means of exercise. Besides using a bicycle to get around, it can be used for leisure at a park or beach. Not only is it a fun and engaging way to stay fit, but is also is easy to learn, making it an option to almost anyone who might be interested.

(b) Road safety is different from safe roads, but both are equally important and cannot be achieved without the other. Educating commuters about rules and the means of all the signs will help increase understanding of how roads are meant to work. When more people practice road safety, there will also be less accidents on roads.
Surveillance systems with the latest and best technology would be one way to make roads safer. With high-quality cameras and swift updates on traffic, roads can be better monitored and relevant feedback can be given to improve them when needed.

(c) Both vehicle-users and pedestrians can cause danger on roads. Most drivers should have passed a series of tests to get a licence in the first place, so if they are the party breaking laws and causing accidents, it becomes a bigger problem. If they are the minority of driving students, then it is not a question of the teaching methods, but of the drivers themselves. They should be punished severely, for not taking their lessons seriously and jeopardising the lives of others.
If pedestrians are the problem, whether by dashing onto roads or vandalising objects such as traffic lights and signs, they should be punished just as severely. This is an issue of education and awareness in the general public, so the government and transport ministry should look into ways of raising awareness if these cases become more frequent.

a)I think that it would be very useful to have a bicycle check like the one in the video as it would ensure our safety when we are using the bicycle. For example we can check the brakes so if we nearly collide with something or someone, we can use the breaks to instantly stop the bicycle.Another part we can check would be the chains of the bicycle,so that it is not rusted. If it is rusted, then it could potentially break when we are riding it.This would cause the bicycle malfunction and the bicycle would be unable to move forward, which would render it useless. Also, we can check the tires so that there is air in it.If there is no air, then the metal inside the tires would scrape the floor and damage the rubber on the exterior of the bicycles. All these checks would ensure our safety and would disable the bicycle from breaking when we use it, hence it is useful to have a bicycle check like the one in the video.

b)I feel that roads could have a barrier system. Many people tend to jaywalk and that results in many car accidents. To prevent jaywalking, have a barrier in the middle of the road so that it would prevent people from hopping over it.Another way would be to build more traffic lights so that individuals would use them. Most of the times, traffic lights are located at the ends of the pavements. This results in people jaywalking as they are lazy to walk to the traffic lights. This would result in accidents. If more traffic lights were built, they would use it and they would not need to jaywalk, and they would also not need to walk to the end of the pavement to use the traffic lights.

c)I feel that cars and individuals both have the potential to cause accidents on the road.Cars have the potential to break down and henceforth may cause accidents.Their car may skid or drivers may speed, and that would lead to accidents on the road.If their brakes malfunction, then it would also cause an accident as well as it would only be able to accelerate and not slow down.I agree to a small extent that people who cause danger on the roads should receive severe punishment as many individuals who are impatient and jaywalk can cause an accident. However, if due to unforeseen circumstances, the car malfunctions and causes the accident, then it would be the fault of the car, and not the driver.

a) i think it is very useful to have a bicycle check list like the one in the video as it is not only an easy way to remember but it ensures that we have utmost safety in using the bicycle before we set off on our journey.Additionally,it prevents us from dangers which may have occurred if we did not check before departing.Thirdly,it is useful in ensuring that we have a fun time cycling instead of ending up with injuries because of a faulty bicycle or a loose screw in the bicycle.

b)I think roads could be made safer by placing slow down signs at areas near schools and pedestrian filled cross walks.
Secondly, adding speed bumps to roads at areas which are accident prone can be useful in preventing accidents from occurring at those junctions.Thirdly, installing mirrors at blind corners would be helpful for both drivers and pedestrians to look before they move so that both parties are aware of each other at such areas.
To top it off, road safety is the responsibility of drivers as well hence the drivers should exercise their responsibility by driving with caution and go slow instead of speeding.
Lastly,it would be good to have traffic directors near taxi stands and crowded roads that are bustling with cars to prevent traffic jams that may cause people to end up speeding due to the waits.

c) i strongly agree that people who cause dangers on roads should receive severe punishment. This is because roads are used by everyone and anyone even those as young as 5 years old to seniors in their 80s hence i believe that it is not fair if people who cause dangers and harm to innocent lives should be let off scott free.
Some dangers posed on roads are like drunk driving because these puts peoples lives at risk and it clearly shows reckless behaviour .Another danger would be posed by those drivers who like to rush their way through traffic, this could pose as a severe danger as in the midst of traffic whereby each vehicle may be in close proximity to one another it increases the risk of car crashes and the impact may be even greater and thus causing severe injuries.Lastly,a danger which has been overlooked many a times would be that drivers who drive lorries to manoeuver furniture from place to place need to ensure that they bundle the furniture properly to ensure that nothing falls out and poses as danger to the vehicle behind that is also driving on the road.
Thus i believe that they should be receiving the punishment of a week long of them not being able to drive on the roads as they have shown to be irresponsible yet dangerous to the other fellow drivers. Moreover, road safety should not be taken lightly as these vehicles are clearly bigger than an average human which means that the danger that may occur is ten times more possible.

a) I think that having that video helps bycyclists understand more about their vehicle which makes it safer for them and also allow them to explore new heights with their bike. This is also helpful to the environment because this mode of transportation leaves a smaller carbon footprint as compared to cars or other form of tranaportation.

b) The roads could implement stop signs or alleyways that are made just for bicycles to pass through. This was bicyclists would not have to be in the same lane as compared to other vehicles and ultimately decrease their chances of getting into an accident.

c) I believe that people who cause accidents on the road should be punished depending on what the injury was. I believe that we should also pay attention to what the culprit and what the victim were doing in that point of time because it could be a minor miaunderstanding which leads to major consequences.

a) It is useful in preventing accidents from happening. Those who are new to cycling can avoid any faults in their bicycles which could cause accidents. This video is short and simple to make sure instructions are understandable for their viewers. It also shows pictures of the parts of the bicycle the speaker was talking about. It is also useful for making sure the bicycle is in good condition. It is useful in giving an opportunity for people to live a healthy lifestyle by using it for transport. This video encourages them to switch to cycling which is more environmentally friendly.

b) Roads can be made safer by making a path for cyclists on the road so that the cyclists who cycle on the side of the road may not be hit by a vehicle. Educating the public such as students can decrease the chances of accidents as they will be more aware of their surroundings and not depend on their parents to cross the road. Laws for jaywalking can be implemented so that people will be discouraged to jaywalk and use the pedestrian crossing instead. For this cameras can be installed so that those who jaywalk can get fined.

c) I agree to a large extent.Dangers such as hit and run could cause many fatal injuries and some drivers even ignore the accidents they have caused. Drinking and driving is also common in accidents, for example, the accident that happened in Tampines street 10 killed a man. This is due to the ignorance of the driver. By his ignorance of killing an innocent life, he must face severe punishment such as a long jail time. Another danger could be jaywalkers. At some occasions, vehicles will come at very high speeds and if someone is jaywalking it could cause vehicles to skid to avoid the person which can cause them to hit other vehicles or pedestrians. Or they could not break on time and can hit the person where he will have serious injuries. This could be a public nuisance and should be charged a hefty fine or a long jail time.

a) yes i would. first of all i love music and music is all around us, it does not necessarily come from instruments only but it can also come from a series of beats and singing. Since young, i have always loved listening to music and even picked up learning the violin. At first, it was hard to get used to the holding position of the instrument but watching the performances of my seniors there standing confidently and performing their own songs had inspired me to like playing the violin.

b) the young can help elderly through in school VIA ( values in action ) projects and organise various activities for the elderly to enjoy and experience. Some examples of the activities are like teaching the elderly how to use certain platforms or functions of their electronic devices can greatly impact and help them as they would then be able to use their devices more conveniently.

c) i disagree to a large extent as elderly or not we are all humans so i think that the elderly should not be counted as a problem but instead a social responsibility as they lived through the generation before us and provided all the things we have now. So i think that considering them as a problem the society faces is cruel and we should instead enbrace their presence while they are still around.

1 ) Bicycle check can be very useful in preventing unnecessary accident from happening. For example, you should check if your bicycle tires is inflated properly before riding it to Prevent it from being unstable and and risk yourself from falling of the bicycle. You should also check if your bicycle brakes is working properly before riding as it may cause accidents such as colliding with people as u are unable to stop the bicycle in time and my cause serious injuries to you and other people or you may bump into a pole or any objects and that may pose danger to your safety.

2 ) A bicycle-only lane could be introduce for bicycle riders to ride safely on the road. This will prevent any unnecessary accidents from happening as it creates a separate place for bicycle riders to ride ride safely in. This will prevent any cars and vehicles from hitting the bicycle and it can allow the bicycle users to ride more comfortable in without worrying about any large cars or vehicles behind or in front of them.

3 ) I agree that people who cause dangers on the road should received severe punishment . As everyone of us at least use some form of transportation that requires using of the road whether is it public transport such as buses or private transport such as cars or taxis. Hence, I really think that the people who caused danger on the road via speeding or driving when they are drunk should definitely received severe punishment at least with a heavy fine of at least 5000 dollars and above accompanied with a jail time of at least 2 years as they are being very inconsiderate to the other road users and their actions may also cause serious accidents from happening such as car crashes that may results in death. This may also cause other people to feel scared about diving into her peas because of I consider people like this. Hence , I definitely think that severe punishment is definitely required for people who posed dangers on the road as they do not only posed dangers to themselves but also to others.

(a) I would enjoy playing a musical instrument like the person in the video. As a music student, it would be easier for me to start any instrument as I already have some background knowledge that I can apply to my learning. Furthermore, I have only learnt a keyboard instrument and a wind instrument, so I would like to try a string instrument next.
I would enjoy playing a musical instrument like the person in the video. While most instruments have specific genres of music that they fall into, like the violin in Western classical music, most instruments can be played for almost any genre. So while electrical guitars such as the one in the video are most commonly seen in rock music, they can be played in various other styles, too. I think it would be fun to experiment with such a sound.

(b) "Age is just a number", and it truly can be if we put stereotypes and prejudices aside. Learning can be done at any age and we should accept and encourage that, like the teacher the lady in the video approached. With our own grandparents or elderly in our families, we can try out various hobbies together, such as music or cooking. By showing our enthusiasm, the elderly would be more comfortable with trying new things out and teaching us what experience they have with it.
Additionally, through VIA projects, students have opportunities to reach out to members of the public, including elderly. This can be done by visiting the homes for the elderly in the neighbourhood and spending time with the residents. By showing interest and care, we can give the elderly some more happiness and comfort, thereby enriching their lives.

(c) As society continues to become more and more technologically advanced, healthcare services have also improved. This creates a better environment for people to live in, and age without dying from disease. However, this allows more people to die natural deaths of old age and results in an ageing population.
The elderly are not required to work once they reach a certain retirement age. While they deserve the rest after their years spent on work, this does not reduce the number of people services have to cater to. Supply might not meet the demand, resulting in social, economic, and political disasters.

i think it would be useful to have a bicycle check like the one in the video as bicycles are a good alternative form of transportation and are much more environmentally friendly than cars . with bicycle checks , it would be able to check whether my bicycle is safe to ride and i would be more comfortable riding my bike knowing that it is safe to ride. one part that we can check is the brakes as it is an important part when riding a bike . our brakes could prevent us from colliding with someone else as well as from hitting anything that could be obstructing the bicycle pathway .

b) i think roads could be made safer by educating pedestrians to not jaywalk and by educating more pedestrians on the potential dangers of jaywalking , it would raise awareness and more pedestrians would not resort to jaywalking. next , i think roads could be made safer by increasing the fine of jaywalking or running the red light in a car . traffic cameras could be installed in more junctions as well so as to capture the car plate number to impose the fine on the driver , this would lead to less drivers running the red light as they may not want to pay the fine as well as jaywalkers who may also not want to pay the fine.

c) i agree as those who cause dangers on the roads may cause an accident which could result in a loss of life . for example , one danger is using ones phone while driving the car . this causes the attention of the driver to be diverted to the phone and not the road and the driver may not be aware of those crossing the road and knocking down the pedestrians as their attention was not on the road . another dangers on the road are those who use the phone and jaywalk at the same time . these people are not aware of incoming cars which could lead to them either being knocked down or cars skidding to avoid them, hitting lamp posts or traffic lights . this could lead to death or severe injuries , thus i agree as without severe punishment , they may not learn from their actions and choose to do it again, leading to more lives being lost due to their irresponsibility

i think bicycle checks are important and useful. Firstly I think that bike checks lets the owner of the bike know if there are malfunctions of certain parts of the bike , such as the brakes , pedals and the tyres. Secondly , early detection of defects in the bike warns the owner to get his bicycle fixed or consider if he/she could get a new one if the bike is too old or too expensive to repair. Lastly bike checks are important as it is a safety precaution to the owners safety. If i conducted such bike checks i would check the brakes to make sure i can brake on time to avoid accidents.I would also check the pedals if they work perfectly. and the bell to see if it still rings, The most important is the tyres tomsee if it has deflated and needs air pumps.

(b) To make roads safer , the government can impose a speed limit on highways and expressways. There should also be more designated lanes for bicycles as some riders tend to cut into the lanes meant for cars and buses , these vehicles large in size and run faster , leading to many road accidents. Next , the police should also punish reckless drivers who ignore the speed limits by revoking their driving license , fining them or even jail depending on the severity of the case.

(c) I agree to a large extent as many drivers commute around the country daily on these roads and these people who cause danger not only endanger their own existence but also the lives of many other innocent drivers who follow the rules. They also destroy families and their own future. News have reported of drivers who drive after drinking and end up either ramming into a pedestrian or killing themselves in a car explosion. These drivers are selfish and should be dealt with harshly by relevant authorities. If they want to die they should not drag more people along as some still want to live.

(a) I would enjoy taking part in such a gathering. In such a big open space, many people can meet at the same time and spend the day together. Not only are there wide varieties of activities available, but well-known faces were also present. This event is to celebrate Singapore, which brings people together over a sense of pride for our country.

(b) The first type of problem is due to the location of family outings. If the plan is to visit the park or beach, it may rain that day and the outing has to be cancelled. If the plan is to go to a restaurant or somewhere indoors, there might be no space available or the place is too crowded.
The second type of problem is due to the family itself. If they cannot get along, it would be difficult to have a peaceful day out without disagreeing and arguing, which spoils the fun. This leads to a dislike of spending time with family, defeating the purpose of family days out.

(c) More often than not, family is who we are surrounded by most of our time. It is because of this that we take the company for granted. Every once in a while, all of us need to slow down from this pace of life and appreciate what we have. We can first do this by spending quality time with the people nearest to us. This forges stronger bonds between family members and can make living together more bearable and enjoyable.

a)I think it would be incredibly useful as doing the ABC check on your bike could ensure that your bike remains in good condition and you would need to spend less money to replace the faulty parts as your bicycle's condition is maintained for a longer period of time. Also, by doing this check, you would be able to know whether your bicycle's parts need to be replaced if they are in poor condition from the wear and tear over the years, and would lower the risk of getting yourself or others injured in the event your breaks are faulty and crash or your lights don't work while your cycling at night would be dangerous if you cross a road without being able to see the car coming through or other people and get into a accident.
b)I think that you can install CCTVs around the roads so that people would be more conscious about their surroundings so they would be more careful, along with heavier fines, would reduce the number of accidents and make roads safer.By having heavy fines and jail time in the event of drunk driving, Singapore has one of the safest roads.Another way is having speed limits , for example in Singapore when in vicinity of schools, the speed limit is 40km/h.Hence, resulting in Singapore having one of the safest roads
c)I agree to a large extent as I feel that people who are able to danger the life of people by having road hazards such as illegal parking should get fined heavily as it obstructs the road and could cause blind spots that would lead to injuries or even in some causes death.

a) I think it is very useful to have a bicycle check like the one in the video. Firstly, I would not have to search up multiple videos on how to check a bicycle. Secondly, this video uses a mnemonic name 'ABC' to help me recall the steps in case I forget the order of the instructions. Lastly, this will all in turn make riding a bicycle a more easy and pleasurable experience, encouraging more people to pick up this activity. I would check the amount of air in the bicycle tires, the brakes, the gears and the bicycle chains.

b) To make roads safer, it could be made in a way where there is a clear distinction between the cyclist and those with vehicles, this can be done by painting on a separate lane on the road for cyclist path. This will reduce the amount of collisions between vehicles and bicycles. Secondly, they can add more frequent 'slow down' signs to reduce the amount of speeding on the road which could lead to danger. Thirdly, I think there should be more fences in the middle of the road, this is to stop people from jaywalking which could lead to accidental collisions with oncoming traffic. In addition, there should be more installation of traffic lights to enable people to cross roads more safely. Lastly, I think there should be more talks or campaigns held to remind and educate the public on how to be safe on the road.

c) I strongly agree that people who cause danger on the roads should receive severe punishments. A road is use commonly by people of all walks of life and due to that one person who causes danger, those that use the road properly will be affected. Such dangers can be drunk driving. There has been multiple reminders not to drive while one is intoxicated and if the person still blatantly do it i think that they should be severely punish with jail time because it is a very dangerous thing to do and it has resulted in many deaths of people all over the world. Another danger is jaywalking. Even though one might be in a rush, they should still wait at a traffic light because there had been many reports of death and injuries due to people jaywalking. I feel that they should just receive and fine as it is as severe. Lastly, those who speed on the road. Drivers usually lose control over their speeding vehicles and often tend to crash into traffic of destroy infrastructures. They may even injure themselves, however I think just a fine would suffice unless there are injuries or death involved.

a)I think i would enjoy playing a musical instrument like the person in the video. This is because I have already picked up the musical instrument which is the guitar and I personally enjoy playing the guitar and my liking towards the instrument has developed into one of my hobbies.I have learned to play the guitar since primary school and it has not only become an outlet to release my stress but also helpe me in practicing values such as patience.Picking up an instrument is never easy,it comes with discipline and patience thus it may not be for everyone.

b)I believe that there are several ways the young people can help to enrich the lives of the elderly. For instance, through our values in action programme by schools,I believe students can seize the opportunity to bring joy to these elderly when we visit the old folks homes.AS such, when we are at the old folks home,I think it would be beneficial to teach these elderlies some basic technological skills and teach them to download basic applications which may be handy for them when they go grocery shopping or want to communicate with their friends. For example,I can teach an elderly how to download an app that translates the foreign language on the food product that they may want to purchase to their prefered language so that if you want to buy the product but are unsure if the ingredients are what your allergic too,you can just snap a picture and it translates for you. This would save them the hassle of searching for a sales assistant to give them a hand. Moreover,by teaching them the basic uses of technology it allows them to connect with their friends so that they would feel less lonely and bored and this adds value to their life as they feel motivated to go out to meet their friends and spend some times outside rather than being cooped up at home all day .

c)I agree to a small extent with the view that an ageing population is one of the major problems facing modern society. I can understand that some may believe this is a problem because with an ageing population there would mean there are more senior citizens present.HEnce, for example,if these elderly owns a hawker store and since their ageing, they would need someone to take over their store, however because the youth tend to be uninterested in such business ,no one ends up taking over nd this may cause economic deline due to several of this situations happening to the mass popukation of singaporean hawkers.Another issue would that be many of the ageing population tend to enter retirement.THis leaves lesser people with experience to actually stay in the workforce which may cause the business to decline in sales as the new youths pouring in may not know how to handle such businesses.
On the contrary, there are bigger problems that the world is currently facing, such as abortion being illegal where such a major issue has caused outrage amongst millions because people feel that it is unfair yet unreasonable. An example would be in poland whereby it has thus led to riots and dispute amongst people with conflicting views towards the situation which also made people develop hatred and disgust towards their governments.Other issues in todays modern times would be global warming as in the news it has shown that scientists themselves has began to step up to make a stand and trying their best to show how serious such a situation can be.
Lastly,a problem that Singapore has been facing is discrimination.By that I am referring discrimination towards the immigrants whom are construction workers or even to domestic helpers.I believe Singaporeans have unfortunately adopted the ¨not in my backyard mindset¨ whereby they tend to draw a fine line between what Singaporeans may deem as the lower class people. This issue has been surfacing for years whereby these foreign peopl may feel outcasted and lack the sense of belonging that they should have.THis issue could drive these people into loneliness and even depression because they feel unwelcomed and thus would already have the mindset that they are not good enough to belong in SIngapore.HEnce, having a difficult time blending in.

(a) How useful do you think it would be to have a bicycle check like the one in the video?
I think that conducting a simple bicycle check each time before you go for a ride is really useful and important. This is because, there may be some faults in our bicycle that we may not be aware of and that could be dangerous for us. Checking our bicycle before each use is simple and not time consuming at all, and those simple steps as shown in the video is really useful and could help prevent a serious accident from happening during the ride. For example, if one does not check the breaks before heading of, and is unaware that it is not working, the person may get into a serious accident as by the time the person realised that the brakes are not working, it could be too late.

(b) Can you think of any ways in which the roads could be made safer? Tell me about them.
I think that there could be designated cycling paths for those who are cycling.

(a) i think it would be quite useful to have a bicycle check like the one in the video for those who use a bike. I feel that if there would be a situation where the bike malfunctions halfway through the journey it would definitely not be pleasant. Hence if there would be such a bicycle check it will come in handy. Being able to check your bike before the ride will allow you to avoid any mishaps and have a smooth ride. Most importantly it ensures the safety of the rider using this bike that it would not break down any moment. The bike check will alert you of faulty parts of the bike that can be handled beforehand.
(b) I think that to make roads safer, there can be monthly checks on the road should there be damage to the road after an accident they can take precautions from another one happening. They can also put bike zones where many cyclists like to cycle on the road, drivers will be able to be aware of them and reduce accident rate. Or they can ban bicycles on the road at certain times of the day especially peak hours that could prevent casualties. More signs and speed cameras can be placed which will warn drivers, ensuring they slow down when required. This will lower risks of cars colliding or injuring pedestrians. They can also educate students on road safety so that they will also be mindful and watch out when crossing the road.
(c) i feel that people who cause danger on the road should be severely punished especially when many of them are often aware and educated on road safety. Those car drivers who drive recklessly or drink and drive definitely know all these considering they had to get their driving licence. I feel that they should not be let off easily and should be banned from driving ever again, on top of a hefty fine. May it be pedestrians who run across the road recklessly or cross where they should not, they are likely the ones to be the casualty. Then again they are aware that dashing across the road is dangerous and can even cause accidents that they are not involved in. It causes harm to other road users and they are not being considerate. Hence, they have to take responsibility for their actions and face the consequence.

It is also relaxing to be on a picnic as you can enjoy the food and spend time with your loved ones. I am also a person who prefers being outdoors rather than staying at home all day. so i think that i would be extremely enjoyable for me.

b) some of the problems that may be faced include the weather, the traffic jams and cancelled events due to some reasons on the host part. when going on picnics, they might have underestimated the climate and it ended up raining when they just started eating, causing them to scurry to shelter, ruining all the food in the way as the rain could have contaminated the food and drinks and as they rush for shelter they might have knocked down some food, resulting in a chaotic day. when travelling to malaysia from singapore by car they might have also underestimated the time taken for checking at the checkpoint and cause a delay in plans.

c) i agree as since everyone is having hectic lives, it is hard to have a proper conversation and chitchats with family members often. So, spending time with family members could ease their stress and catch up with each other as well. something as simple as having a home-cooked meal with the whole family could do the trick. people can interact and ask each other about heir lives and stresses, hence caring for one another.

a) it is very important to conduct bicycle checks each time before using a bicycle as it is a safety measure to ensure that the bicycle is in good condition before using because if the various parts of the bicycle is not working, it could lead to the person using it becoming injured and many also lead to accidents.

b) I think that in order to make roads safer, there should be a road pavement check every 3 months in order to make sure the roads are safe for cars to travel on. They should also add cycling lanes for the cyclists who prefer cycling on the road so that divers will be more aware of the riders and will not in any case cause major collisions between cyclists and cars or fix up a timeline where cyclists are allowed on the road, staggering the timing for the smooth flow of traffic especially during the peak hours of the day. Signages and surveillance cameras can be put up to warn divers to lower their travelling speeds, lowering the risk of road accidents.

c) I agree as life may be lost. For example, using phones while driving diverts the attention of the driver to their phone and would not be paying attention to the road in front of them, and if a pedestrian were to past, they may not be aware and might end up knocking them over. This could possibly lead to death and extremely severe injuries so a severe punishment should be implemented or else repeated offenders will not learn their lesson and lead to more people's lives to more danger all because of their irresponsible choices of actions.

Lastly it is important to do a bike check as it enhances safety not only for the rider, but for other people in the surrounding as well. When I conduct bike checks, I always inspect my brakes as they are very crucial to adding safety. I always ensure that they are not too loose. Other than that, I also check my tires to ensure that they have not been punctured by fragments of glass and look out for debris which may cause them to be flat.
(b) I believe that roads can be safer when drivers follow speed limits, and do not exceed them. Many roadside collisions are caused by speeding, as crashes become even more fatal when the car is moving at such great speed. Not exceeding the speed limit. Roads can also be safer when drivers do not drive under the influence of Alcohol, or drugs.
(c) I agree to a large extent that people who cause danger on the road should be subjected to severe punishment. When vehicles crash, there is a risk of danger posed to people, as it may lead to consequences such as loss of lives, property and even the damage of road infrastructure. Vehicle crashes affect many people, injuring them physically. However, people in involved in dangerous situations on the road may not be affected only physically, but mentally as well. Crashes and road accidents such as hit-and-runs may leave victims with trauma that they will have to deal with for the rest of their lives. This trauma cannot be coped with very easily, and some victims may even have to seek professional help. Therefore, people who cause danger on the road may disrupt the daily routines and lives of people, which has such a detrimental effect on society.

(a) Yes, i would enjoy playing an instrument like the one in the video. As I personally enjoy listening to instruments, i always wonder how people can be so creative to come up with those beats or melodies. Hence, if I were able to learn and play an instrument like the guitar, it would definitely be a joy. As i have heard from many people learning some instruments can be difficult, however it can boost your brain's health as well, helping to decrease loss of memory and cognitive function. Playing instruments can be calming to reduce anxiety and help to develop your skills hence i think i would enjoy it.
(b) some ways that young people can enrich the lives of the elderly is to engage them in outdoor activities. Many elderly tend to spend their time at home due to their age and no one to spend time with them. Hence one way to supplement their day is to bring them outdoors. For example one's own elderly at home, they can bring them out to nearby parks for simply a stroll or if their health permits they can engage in simple sports activities like badminton.
Another way to enrich their living is to secure them in home care. For those who are not able to always be with their elderly at home can opt for in home care. So that when these elderly are home alone, the caregiver can provide care from meals to a companion. This will ensure that the elderly also spend their time well at home, hence also ensures there is someone there in any case of an accident to the elderly.Young people can also organise community activities for the elderly where those in nearby blocks can spend their time having tea with other elderly and not be bored at home. Activities can range from dessert making to craft that can occupy their afternoons and help them make friends in the community. As a bonus it will teach them new skills. Schooling students can also consider visiting old folks home as part of a school VIA programme. Students can teach those elderly how to use smartphones and other devices, as well as functions like translation which can help them to communicate better.
(c)I agree to a large extent that an ageing population is one of the major problems facing modern society. Nowadays, society is very fast paced, hence many of the elderly are still unable to adapt to the change. The elderly often do not know how to use technology and as a result lack behind. For the younger generation to make efforts to close the gap in between will require a lot of effort. Some of the ageing population tends to refuse to accept these new changes in modern society and thus continue to do things old fashion. Therefore no matter how much society changes, there will always be the elderly that prevent society from moving forward. However, i also disagree. As society has changed since their time, we have grown up following their footsteps and incorporated it in our daily lives. Hence from the old fashion food stalls run by them to the way of learning, they have all been slightly modified by the younger and carried out. Thus, as we are accustomed to such living, even when society is evolving, the elderly would not be a barrier to a improved one.

(a) Yes, i would enjoy taking part in this activity as it is outdoors and leisure. As it is a picnic style event, i like that people can sit anywhere. Moreover there are various activity booths there that are interesting like the balloons and photo booths which props are being provided. Also the uplifting atmosphere and crowds of people make it all the more enjoyable. Especially with family, we can chill on the picnic mat and enjoy the view of the sky.
(b) Some problems that might occur on family days out are disagreements. After everyone is busy doing their own things at work or at school, when finally being able to gather for a family day, everyone is bound to have their own opinion on how to spend the day. Some of them would rather stay home and watch a movie while others would want to go out for an activity filled day. While everyone does not seem to be on the same page there will be tension amongst. Should no one give in, the day meant for the family to be spent together will be a sour one. Another problem could be unavailability, when not everyone is available on that day. When different family members are taking on certain jobs or roles, they often are unable to meet at most times. It can be frustrating for everyone who all just want a good family day spent, however sacrifices have to be made. Sometimes the weather can also be a hindrance to the family outing. Maybe a nice picnic day was planned out long beforehand however due to the weather like rain, plans had to change or be cancelled.
(c) i agree with this to some extent. it is true that life in Singapore is hectic, people tend to be rushing all the time due to the endless amount of workload that they do not even have time for anything else even family. Therefore it is important to always prioritise family alongside school or work as they are always the support in your life. Also everyone is also as busy, hence it is important to find time to spend with family as one day it might not be able to happen again. We should treasure family and put in effort to spend quality time with family even if it is difficult. However, i also disagree as, as long as you remember family, physically not being able to spend time is not a worry. Like studying abroad is always hard as to not being able to meet your family. Nevertheless simply keeping in contact via video calls, messages or even postcards will keep your heart beside family. Hence i believe that it is not omst urgent to spend quality time with family.

a) I think it is very useful as it ensure our safety. I think that doing everything we should ensure our safety first then proceed on doing it. As everything might happen, so it is best to check on the bicycle so as to go on a safe ride without our parents worrying too much. I will check the brakes and the wheels especially as it is one of the most important parts and the parts that can cause accidents to happen.
Furthermore, i think bicycle are environmentally friendly for the world instead of transportation like cars and bus which would cause air pollution. Thus, i think the bicycle check would be useful for commuters.

b)I think that installing more cameras and signs on the road as well as impose fines will let the drivers understand the consequences of speed driving. As this allow them to learn more about the importance of road safety and would be more aware of speed-driving. Thus, it would minimise accidents from occurring and educate the drivers more.
Next, i think that government can educate the road users by using social media and advertisement. As people nowadays are more active on social media platform such as Instagram, therefore by educating the road users on how to use the road properly, and the rules to follow would be easier and that people will notice it more.
Lastly, i think that it can have more designated lanes for bicycles. For example , Singapore are already having more bicycles lanes for the riders so as to encourage people to cycle instead of using cars. This way, it can also avoid pedestrians and the riders for clashing, minimising accidents to happen. All these ways enable the road users to put safety first and always observe about their surroundings to prevent accidents from happening.

c)I agree that people who cause danger on the roads should receive severe punishment. As examples of the consequences can be fracturing their bones, damaging internal organs or even up to losing their life. Dangers such as drivers using phone while driving causing their attention to be diverted, distracted which might led to them not noticing pedestrians walking, causing accident to occur. Punishment can be putting into jails for quite a long time as innocent lives is been lost because of this small mistake the drivers thought it was.
Furthermore, there has been a lot of drunk-drinking accident occurring around the world where people drive when they pass the alcohol level, breaking the basic rules of driving. For example, one key accident i remember was the tanjong pangar car crash into a cafe where the driver exceed the alcohol level which meant that he was drunk while driving with the rest of his 4 passengers which were his friends in the car. This is a very selfish action and he not only put himself in danger but the rest of the passengers as well, causing them to lose their own life and damage properties. All these incidents happened just because of the drivers or pedestrians not following the basic road safety rules should deserve a severe punishment such as suspending their license , large amount of fines as well as jail sentence to let them be aware the seriousness of their reckless actions.

a) I would not enjoy playing a musical instrument like the person in the video. Although i enjoy listening music, but i know i do not have much talent on playing the musical instrument before and am not really interested in playing one. I would rather do physical activities like playing sport games, go on walks or hang out with my friend. I did try learning how to play some musical instrument before when my primary school had give students the chance to learn how to play ukulele and the recorder. Though i did enjoy learning new things and found it quite interesting to play it, but i realise i am not someone who will be good at it and shows not much interests after awhile. Thus, i would not enjoy playing a musical instrument like the person in the video where she genuinely like playing and that i am not really a musically-inclined person.

b) Young people can help by bringing their grandparents out to take a stroll to have some fresh air or play some board games with them to keep them active. As this activities are easy to carry out with the teenagers and need not take much time to carry out. Furthermore, these activities benefits the elderly and enrich the lives of the elderly in a way that they are able to keep a healthy lifestyle by taking a stroll and getting some fresh air rather than just staying at home. Boards games also benefits the elderly as it keep their brain active and also is a bonding time with their grandchildren.
Young people also can spend time teaching elderlies on how to use social media or what are some things and activities that are in trend now. For example, teenagers can teach the elderly on how to use facebook or instagram where they can post pictures and videos for memories purposes. I believe that the elderlies would be interested in learning new stuff, which can enrich their lives as these are things they never had when they were young.
Lastly, i think that teenagers should spend more time with their grandparents or visit some old folks home to accompany them and talk to them. As this way, the elderlies would have someone they can talk to and share their stories when they are young at the same time we can also share what are some things that are in trends or do activities like cooking and going on walks too. By doing all these with the elderly, it enrich their lives by making them feel less lonely, letting them to try out new activities as well as bonding time with people, which make them feel happier and appreciated.

c) I would agree to a large extent that an ageing population is one of the major problems facing modern society. As time passes, people get older and in Singapore, hawker centres stalls are mostly the older generation managing it. With the younger generation, most of them refused to take over their family business as they think that it does not suit them or the income is too less. Furthermore, with the low birth rate happening in Singapore, lesser children are being born which means that there are only more elderlies turning older which are one of the problems we faced in Singapore. Because of this problem, government have been trying to solve this problem by providing more benefits for new born baby .Thus, i think that it is a major problems facing modern society as it might be a huge problem in the long run with the mindset people have nowadays.
However, there are also problems such as discrimination. For example, there are still discrimination towards the immigrants such as the construction workers where Singaporean still leave them out , and make all sorts of bad comments about them . This problem has been happening for a long time , even though the government are playing their part to encourage a more united nations , there are still a small part of Singaporeans who kept discriminating them
Lastly , economic had been contributing to the problem that Singapore is facing especially there is the Russian-Ukraine war happening which cause inflation and many countries had been affected by it . The government have to find ways to cope with the problems and also ensure the Singaporeans that they are find solutions for it and not to panic about it. Thus, i still think that ageing population is one of the major problems facing modern society with the rest of the problem Singapore is facing right now.

a) I would enjoy taking part in he activity shown in the clip. The activity shown was having family picnic, spending quality time with family members. As picnic is an activity that is relaxing and calming, we would be able to relieve our stress and take a break from our work and school to spend some time with one another. Furthermore, i think that this activity allows us to bond with our family members such as preparing the food for the picnic together or playing board games and flying kite. Thus, i would definitely love enjoy taking part of this activity because of how it benefits us and that can be part of a stress relieving activity.
I would not enjoy taking part in this activity as i am not really someone who like this kind of outdoor activity. Firstly, i think that weather is one of the factor why i would not choose to picnic outdoor because of how unpredictable the weather is which might cause the plan to fail or like the super hot weather that Singapore have. Moreover, i do not think that our family are the type that would bond through this activity but instead just staying at home and having a meal, spending time with one another would be good enough. Thus, i would not enjoy taking part inthis activity as i think that there are many other more activity that my family and i can participate in which all of us would enjoy and suit everyone one of us.

b) I think that communication problems might occur on family days out. As i think that even if we are a family, different people would still have different opinion on certain things. For example, deciding on the activity for family outing, my sister and i would have different suggestions on it and which it would led to argument when we both really disagree with the another suggestions or like which restaurant should we eat at. This small things might affects the mood and atmosphere of the family outing, causing it to be ruined.
Secondly, i think that there are also problem such as outdoor activities to be cancelled. Just like the outdoor picnic at Marina barrage which have no shelter, if it suddenly rain, it would be chaotic where all of us have to quickly packed the stuff and squeezed with a lot of other families at the shelter area. This might thus lead to disappointment which would cause the families to be unhappy that their plans just got cancelled just like that.
Lastly, i think that it would be very hard to find a family activity which everyone in the family would enjoy. As there is still a age difference between our parents, grandparents and us, thus the generation difference might not be able to be enjoyable for everyone. For example, children nowadays tend to like outdoor activities like going to theme park such as Universal studios which most adults would not really like because of their age. Thus, a family days out could be difficult for everyone to enjoy it even though we are all spending time with one another.

c) I agree to a large extent. As the word hectic would be the right word to describe Singaporean life. The reason why i said that because of how both the children and adults in the family have to deal with stress from either work or schools which cause everyone to burn out and rarely would like to spend some quality time with family members. Also, the activities in Singapore are not cheap as well, thus not many people would willingly spend this money just to spend some time with the family. So, firstly i think that family should spend quality time together because we are a family for a reason. Family are always one of the most important part of each and every one of our lives , because we share the same blood which means we are meant to look out for one another and take care of one another. Even though life today is so hectic and everyone in the family might be stressed out, i think that spending quality time together with family would be one of the activity that allow us to take a break from the hectic life and catch up with one another. We can easily spend quality time together by trying our best to eat every meal together, as it allows us to catch up with one another every day and make sure everyone are doing fine with their life. This can be a way of providing emotional support, making one another feel better from the stressful lives we have. Next, i think that family can also plans a overseas trip or just a outing to somewhere where everyone can relax and take a break from the reality. This is a way to bond with one another, enjoying and having fun with family members. Thus, i think that if family spend quality time together like these, we would be able to the pillar of support to our family members, and be the one who always be there no matter what happens.

(a) I believe having a bicycle check list is essentially helpful since it not only makes it simple to remember, but it also serves its overall purpose which is to act as a guide which protects our safety prior to our tour. Secondly, it safeguards us from risks that would have emerged if we hadn't checked before leaving. Thirdly, it helps to ensure that we enjoy ourselves while cycling rather than suffering injuries such as a braced knee or a loose tire.

(b) i believe that in order to make roads safer for all, there should be frequent road checks once every few months. this ensures that roads are safe commuting pavements to travel on. they can also separate the walking pavements from cycling pavements. rather than having only cycling paths in recreational areas or parks, we should also include these cycling pavements in our most commonly frequented areas, such as the pavements below our houses or the roadsides which are majorly commuted by us. this reduces the avoidable chances of an accident on roads and pavements. more signs and speed cameras can also be installed to serve as a warning or a precaution measure to others on the road. schools can also in-cooperate road safety lessons during curriculum time, this educates young individuals on road safety, making it a safer and commutable environment for all.

(c) I believe that those who endanger others on the road should face harsh punishment. this is due to the fact that everyone uses the roads, and in any event, I do not think it is just for those who endanger others on the roads to get away with it. The perpetrator would be well aware that it is not his life at stake, but the victims. This is not only reckless, but it is also unjustifiably self-indulgent. In addition, there have been numerous incidents of drunk driving and drugged driving that have claimed the lives of many people over the years. Other dangers that may exist include speeding and reckless driving. It is clear that neither speed cameras nor signboards that are supposed to act as a precautionary warning are sufficient to prevent such accidents. thus there is only one way to prevent these accidents from happening, which is to severely implement and harsh punishments on drivers who pose as a danger to others.

(a) no I would not enjoy playing a musical instrument like the person in the video simply because I am not someone who is of musical intelligence. I personally do not enjoy reading the chords off the music chart and I also do not enjoy memorising the different majors and minors in a particular instrument. to me it is extremely treacherous work and it is not something that I will be able to remember in the long run. however I do like to play the piano but I do not like the theory to the piano lessons. I one prefer to play ear and memorise the finger work rather than the chords.

(b) Spending meaningful time with the elderly is one way we may enrich their lives. This makes sure that the elderly don't become senile and that they keep their thoughts engaged by frequently conversing with people. Additionally, through VIA projects, young people can organise visits to nursing homes for the elderly and old people's homes. There, we can put on a performance to encourage people to volunteer for a week of elderly care. This makes sure that the word that the elderly are not neglected in this fast-paced environment is received.

(c) I do not agree to a large extent. the elderly are the basis of where we are today. they built the foundation of our country, and without them, we would not have advanced to such stage. likewise, the elders are human too, just like us. it would not be fair for them to be seen as a inconvenience simply because of their age. to me, age does not define a person's capabilities and they are just as experienced as any youthful individual. it is our responsibilities to care for one another and accept their presence as a gift, and not a 'trouble'.

(a) I would like participating in the activity. This is due to the fact that it appears that everyone present is having a good time, as shown by the smiles on their faces, and that it is also a wonderful opportunity for family bonding. Each family also appears to receive a nice family hamper, which appears to be rather generous in its assortment of treats. Contradictory to my previous answer, I wouldn't want to participate in this activity since it seems like a very crowded place, and I don't like spending a lot of time in the sun because of how humid the weather is, and I would not want to risk a suntan.

(b) Some of the issues that may arise on family days out can range from time management issues to communication problems to a lack of proper planning on the part of the individual itself, all of which can indicate a lack of communication between the individuals themselves and how this may potentially affect the days of everyone. For example, one party may be having a picnic and the other party may forget to bring the picnic cloth. or it can also be improper planning of time, which can result in being stuck in traffic congestions or being late for a certain event. all these mishaps will increase tensions between the family members, resulting in unnecessary arguments occurring between the two parties.

(c) I largely concur with this viewpoint, therefore yes. First of all, the word "hectic" in the context of Singapore refers to an extremely rushed schedule every single day, which makes it difficult for many individuals to spend enough quality time with one another, especially with our family members and loved ones. Spending time with our family members is crucial since they have always been there for us and have been our biggest supporters through all of the difficulties we have had in life. It wouldn't be fair for us to spend our free time on activities that are less significant than spending time with our family, such as going out for drinks or hanging out with friends, when we can instead spend this time with them. They have also been the ones who have taken care of us when we were sick or feeling down.
