I restarted multiple times on each pinch pot. I wanted to make sure each pinch pot was made well in order to create a good foundation for further down the road. My shape, and additive clay parts were inspired by coral reefs, and up close shots of different things under the sea. While molding my shape I accidentally punctured a hole in the top of project which is why I decided to add the dome on top, to illuminate light hopefully, and make a focal point for different textures and color. I liked this project because I was able to try new things and let my mind go to work. Even though it did not turned out as I hoped, I still am proud I was able to endure the dilemmas I faced.]]> 2017-01-22 00:29:28 UTC https://padlet.com/scottl2620/ugr3nqfnv6ug/wish/148537724 scottl2620 https://padlet.com/scottl2620/ugr3nqfnv6ug/wish/148537926 I was very excited, but frightened when we were assigned the spirit animal project because I had no idea how I was going to attempt making a husky out of coils, but I was ready for the challenge, and I thought this project would be something that symbolizes me, and the characteristics I shared with my spirit animal. Some characteristics I shared was i care about my family, I enjoy the journey and I am not in a rush to the destination, I am a leader with strength, courage, and trust. I thought it would be cool to make the head because it holds the brain, where all these characteristics are created. I began by making a pot out of coils. Then I placed a bunch of paper towels inside the pot so it could support coils hanging over the pot. Doing that i was able to make the top of the mouth. It was challenging to create shapes well with the coils, but I thought it turned out good. I think it looks really cool, but it does not look like a husky. I would have liked to add details to the eyes but I was to scared it would not look good.
