Argelie May...People mispronounced it often as "Angelie or Angeline". And sometimes when I met strangers and they asked my name, they had to repeat it because it's not familiar nor known. (And I wouldn't let myself call "May" either). People call me and give me nicknamnes like "Arge, RG, Gie, Ellie, or Jelay" to shorten it. And I like it! But the question is, how did my parents derived my name from?

So it goes like this. When my mother carried me from her womb. She listed all my possible names, and her sister helped her who is my aunt, and ninang as well. And a fun fact, they wrote in the cartolina, and even finished the two wholes of paper which were so amazing. (They really put an effort into forming my name). So I dropped some of the names they created: Ruby Jean, Rubilyn, etc. (Luckily, they don't name me like that). However, when they asked my father to choose my name on hundreds of names they wrote, but disappointingly, my father didn't choose one of them. So, after how many days of thinking about what my name would be. My father told my mom one day that my name should be "Argelie". And my mother asked him why. So my dad said the "Ar" was from his name, Rubin, which is the first letter of his name, and the "Ge" was from my mother's name, Ginalyn, also the first letter of my mom's name. And the "lie" is from my mom's name, the "lyn" in Ginalyn but without the "n".

After that, my mom agrees with my father's choice of my name. And she said that my name was too plain, and she wanted me to have a second name. Since I was born in May, my mom created my second name, "May".

After all, I thank them for naming me "Argelie May"; unique yet beautiful.

Throughout my upbringing, my parents always celebrated my birthday surrounded by wonderful people. Their efforts never went unnoticed, and I'm immensely grateful for the joy and support they've provided me over the years. Their love and care have been instrumental in shaping who I am today, and I cherish the memories of those special celebrations.

Reflecting on my existence, I realize what a profound gift life truly is. Every day is an opportunity, a blessing bestowed upon me by God. Gratitude has become my guiding principle, reminding me to appreciate the blessings in my life, no matter how small.

I'm someone who constantly wears a smile. I believe in understanding and forgiveness. Empathy towards others is a fundamental part of who I am, and I hold my relationships with loved ones close to my heart.

For me, wearing a smile isn't just a facade; it's a reflection of my inner disposition. I find joy in bringing positivity to those around me, whether through a simple grin or a genuine laugh. Understanding and forgiveness are pillars of my character. I recognize that everyone makes mistakes, and I strive to approach conflicts with empathy and a willingness to forgive.

Empathy is a powerful tool that allows me to connect with others on a deeper level. I'm attuned to the feelings and emotions of those around me, and I do my best to offer support and understanding whenever it's needed. My relationships with loved ones are incredibly important to me. I cherish the bonds I share with family and friends, and I make it a priority to nurture and strengthen those connections.

Each trip is like a new chapter in a book, where we get to learn about different cultures, try new foods, and meet interesting people.

Additionally, I am in the club "The Young Scientists" at Senior High School. I met a lot of people who also love Science. We share each other thoughts, and it's exciting, though. Doing some research and participating in Science events is fulfilling.

I studied at Compostela National High School in Science Technology Class in junior high. Honestly, being in science class was hard because teachers taught you advanced subjects, but luckily, it helped me in senior high. Also, I miss my classmates already;(((.
