         <description><![CDATA[<div>- They contain sugars and sugar monomers known as monosaccharides.<br>- Sugars in animals are in the form of glycogen and in plants are in starch form. <br>- Glycogen and starch have helical shape but cellulose is linear.<br>- They have different sizes.<br>- They are composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen the ratio of them is 1:2:1<br>- The monosaccharides form ring structures in water<br>- The monosaccharides have more than 3 carbons<br>- In monosaccharides, there is carbonyl group which is attached to one carbon and the rest carbons are attached to hydroxyl group.<br>- There are two conformation of glucose based on hydroxyl orientation alpha glucose is in the lower part of carbon 1 but beta linkage is in the upper part</div>]]></description>
