The last few years, people are trying for a more sustainable way of life. That's what our research proves.
The 84,1% of people have insulated walls at their homes, so it isn't necessary to spend electric energy for heating and cooling. A lot of rooftops and attics (the 70,5%) are insulated, too. Also, many homes have double-glazed windows. The energy efficient light bulbs lighten tens of houses. so all these houses are more bright without spending large amount of electricity. The 36,4% of houses use natural gas for heating and the 34,1%use petrol or oil. The rest of the people heat their homes with an air condition or with a fireplace. Many machines (like dishwashers and washing machines) have the "ECO Friendly" settings and almost everybody apply that function. Lots of waste from the households is sorted and recycled. Glass is collected in order to be recycled. However some people bring it to a recycle centre or throw it away in a bin for disposal. Tons of paper and plastic are collected for recycling. Waste food is collected or thrown away in a bin for disposal. Many homes have a garden and the 37,5% of garden waste is composted at home, the 37,5% is thrown away in a bin for disposal and the 18,8% is collected for recycling. People who have a garden tend to cut the grass with an electric lawn mower. Several kinds of material (like grass, food, organic waste etc.) are composted at a percentage of 86,4%.

Lots of products we use in everyday life contain recycled material (carton of milk, paper bags, plastic bottles etc). Our families collect them and put them in recycling bins. Most shops produce waste materials (79,5%). There are many ways that shops can reduce waste materials, for example: they can reduce the use of plastic packaging; they can use recyclable products; the consumers can recycle; all products can be recycled; finally, they can compost products. Less than half of the people check food labels and buy products that grow in their area (45,5%). So the results were these.
Most of the people answered that the walls of their houses are insulated. The rooftop and the attic of their homes are mostly insulated too. Most of them have double-glazed windows. Many people use energy-efficient light bulbs. The 97,7% has this kind of light bulbs. The most use main fuel to heat up houses is petrol/oil. As for the "ECO Friendly" settings on washing machines and dishwashers? Yes! The 59,1% has got these settings! They use it a lot! The 81,8% recycle the waste from household. They recycle glass, waste paper and plastic by collecting it for recycling. As for the waste food, it is mostly composted at home. Most of the people don't have a garden. But as for them, who have a garden, they collect the garden waste for recycling. They do compost materials. The materials that are composted are food, organic, grass, leaves, twigs, organic waste and branches.
