*  He or she can sign the bill passing it into law.
* He or she can veto the bill sending it back to the House of Representatives, but if 2/3rds of both houses approve, the veto is overridden.
* He or she can pocket veto which means he or she does nothing, and if the congress is in session, the bill becomes a law, and if it is not, nothing happens.
