Classrooms aren't utilized anymore. Our goal is to not confine ourselves to one context, in order to grow and "tinker" learning will happen across multiple contexts.

Tools: Multiple speakers from a variety of different contexts and backgrounds. Learning will not occur via just lecture style and will be open dialogues between speakers and students. Experience will be centered around practical applications of experiential learning within organizations (businesses, non-profits, government)
Another important tool will be learning from each other through community based discussions. Digital resources will be utilized greatly when having conversations with people outside our community. Additionally, digital portfolios will be used as a way to demonstrate student learning in a collaborative way.

Design Challenges: Learning will not be traditional typical classrooms will not suit for this type of learning. A shift in the education paradigm will need to occur so that students do not view learning as a way to attain a certain grade or simply learning about. Instead, learning to be will be the new standard and this will require a lot energy, open-mindedness, and time to make this change.

Critiques: Critique will be encouraged within discussions and online in student portfolios where they will have the ability to comment and critique each other. Critique will be greatly encouraged with critique occurring throughout duration of the class in the contexts of speakers, assignments/activities, and design.

Studio: The studio will be composed of primarily students. Diversity will be essential in bringing together people of a variety of background. Additionally, the studio would also have lecturers and presenters.

Question to Ponder: Implementing guidelines and rules for civil discourse to ensure hostility is not brought into this environment. Additionally, critique does not have to occur just in person, it can occur online as well. Patience, open-mindedness, and positive intent will be essential to addressing anxiety that might arise from critique. Investing time and resources in community building will also help.

Regarding tools, we would want our physical space to incorporate a variety areas, including labs and collaboration areas with useful visual aides that detail different research methods, etc. A system of leadership would be an additional tool to have support and easy access to guidance. Other tools include data analysis platforms and understanding of heuristics.

Major challenges including finding a way to manage all the disciplines and various concentrations within cognitive science. Building the bridge between the psychological learning topics to real-world application/mechanics in a tangible manner presents an additional challenge.

For critiques, a peer-review process and discussion board platform, like Teams, would allow students to ask questions and improve their research topics and general understanding.

As touched on above, the leadership system would play into who is in this learning space with us as students, including instructors, fellow students, and peer mentors (i.e., grad students or PhD candidates). Bringing in those not directly involved in or working in cognitive science (i.e., assisting consultants with data comprehension) would allow for a deepened understanding of the disciplines cog sci skills can touch as a variety of fields.
