The holocaust ended May 1945, because the military was defeated. The Soviet, US, British, and also Canadian troops set the jewish prisoners free from the concentration camps and S.S guards. They were then provided with food, water, and medical treatment after being set free. Im glad the prisoners were set free.

How would the Jews recover from the holocaust?

After the people were set free from the camps and rescued by others, they feared to go home because of hatred of jews and feared for their lives because of anti jew riots and danger in germany. Most jewish people left Germany and went to Palestine to live and heal and make a new start. About 170 000 jewish refugees were moved to Israel after fleeing germany. I feel sad that they couldn't return to their own homes because they were too scared.

How did the holocaust impact the German economy?

Many people fled and moved to other countries which lowered the population and income for money. Many concentration camp survivors were very scared to go back to their own homes ever since they got taken away from them and tortured in the camps. Since Germany lost the war, they had to pay many reparations for the damages they caused.

Would the jewish people get a harsher punishment if found while hiding?

The jewish people who were hiding would have to rely on the person keeping them there for everything. They would rely on them for food, water, and various things. They had very sneaky hiding spots to hide from all the nazis. If they were caught hiding, they would be sent to concentration camps and the people who were hiding the jewish people would often get a death penalty or be sent to the concentration camps too. So they would get the same punishment if caught hiding. I feel that it's horrific for people who had to go through this.

Where would jewish people hide during the holocaust?

Jewish people would hide in attics, barns, and sometimes caves to hide from nazi’s and collaborators. It was very hard to hide like this, because they had to rely on others to feed them, give them water, and protect them. Another thing they used to hide was using false identification papers to live in the open. I think it would be hard to hide from nazis.
