Uncaring

Trouble maker

smart ass

John is a dynamic character. He starts by making fun of everyone, trying to get under all of their skins, and generally causing trouble. As the story progresses he starts to learn about people and understand why they are the way they are. Near the end, he starts to sympathize because he now understands their stories and stops making fun of them. He becomes friends with people he used to hate and even starts to care about Claire.

The use of camera angles and moving shots helps display Bender's character throughout the movie. The moving camera angles help show his mood or how intensely angry he is. This shows growth because there is less of this as the movie progresses.

Throughout the whole movie, he continues to be the nerd who wants to be involved in every conversation and looked at as the cool person. He stays the same, the others around him learn to treat him differently, but he stays the same.

There are a lot of faraway shots of Brian when he is not talking which makes him seem more like a background character who is irrelevant. If he is not speaking he is just there throughout the whole movie

She changes throughout the film and becomes more open about who she is and starts to care less about people's opinions and more about who she is. Similar to Andrew.

There are a lot of extreme close-ups and close-ups of Claire that show how self-centered she is. Near the start, she is often shown in shots by herself. At the end she is shown with more people in larger shots and her individual shots are mid-level shots rather than close-ups.
