Hi everyone! My name is Amanda Dang (she/her/hers) and I am a Junior majoring in Business Analytics and Marketing. I pledged AKPsi during fall quarter of my first-year because I, personally, didn't have a lot of experience in the business field and I thought that this would be a great opportunity to get that. I knew I wanted to get involved in something related to my major, but I also wanted to meet new people and make new friends. My piece of advice for you all is to take everything day by day. It can get overwhelming at times, but take opportunities to care for yourself and enjoy your life! Staying as organized as possible will definitely help you to feel less stressed. I'm always here, so please reach out if you need anything :)

Fun Fact: I am an avid baker! I've baked macarons, fruit tarts, etc., but I'm currently really into cake decorating! I love baking cakes for all of my friends and family for their birthdays.

Hi Pledges! Congrats on your admission into the Pledge Class :)

My name is Bethany Locke (she/her) and I am a Finance and Business Analytics double-major, with a minor in Econ. I pledged to Alpha Kappa Psi in the Fall of 2018 during my first quarter of college. I recruited Alpha Kappa Psi to be part of a community of driven students and leaders on campus, and in turn, I have met some of my best friends, roommates, and classmates! I also was not sure what I wanted to study, and hearing from many of the Brothers at the time helped form my decision and passions.

Some words of advice I have for pledging include 1) see the big picture: pledging can be tedious and a lot of events in a short amount of time, so take some time to zoom out of the picture and see what greater picture/lessons/skills there is. and 2) don't be a stranger! You get what you put into your pledging process, so take the time to engage with your fellow Pledge Class and with the Brothers -- many of them are graduating at the end of this quarter!

Fun Fact: I have caddied for Macklemore, I'm on track to have seen 15 Seattle concerts throughout my 4 years at SU, and Alpha Kappa Psi has brought me to Phoenix, Boston, and Chicago!

I joined AKPsi in 2019 and I would advise you to stay organized this quarter because pledging on top of school is really challenging! Rewarding, too. I joined AKPsi to learn how to assimilate to professional culture and it definitely taught me a lot. A fun fact about me is that I am a self-proclaimed donut connoiseur.

I pledged for AKPsi last spring quarter intending to step out of my comfort zone, learn more, and be better with my professional and personal skills. Throughout the pledging process and after becoming a brother, I was able to not only improve my transferable skills but also have formed so many friendships along the way.

I am excited for you all to go through this process. It is definitely a rewarding experience! My biggest advice for you all is to take things one step at a time. I am a second-year, double majoring in Finance and Business Management and minoring in Philosophy. I am also in the Honors Program. I pledged AKPsi my first quarter at SU (Fall Quarter 2020) during the height of the pandemic. I knew I wanted to meet other students like me that were interested in becoming principled business leaders and most of all, I wanted to make new friends and connections that I could keep with me for the rest of my life. I have met some of the most amazing people through AKPsi.

Here's some advice I have for you all as you embark on this 7-week process: What you put into the process is what you get out, so if you want to see true professional growth, fully engage in pledging. Don't wait until the last minute to get things done, spread them out equally throughout the quarter. I pledged AK Psi Fall Quarter of 2021 as part of the first in-person pledge class since the pandemic. In High School, I was a big DECA nerd, which is basically an internationally competitive business club. This led me to join AKPsi. I wanted an environment where I can develop my business and professionalism skills alongside like-minded people. I also secured my first internship through all the amazing resources AKPsi provided for me!

As an underclassman and a recent pledge graduate, my advice to you all would be to not get intimidated. The pledge process is professional only to prepare you for real-world professional experiences; trust me it pays off! You will exit this process as not only a better business leader but as a more well-rounded individual. Additionally, do not be afraid to reach out!!

Hi Pledges,

My name is Natalie Crouse (she/her) and I am your Master of Rituals (MOR) this pledging quarter! As a second-year Biology major, I chose to pledge because I knew I wouldn't be exposed to a professional environment until I would pursue post-grad. AKPsi was introduced to me by current brothers and I am so grateful for it. I am participating in research this quarter which was made possible in part by the skills I have learned from my pledging process and from being a brother in the chapter! Since joining this fraternity I have been exposed to a great community of brothers and friends. Everyone is here to help you succeed so you should always reach out. I believe you get out what you put in, so even if some parts of pledging feel like it is overkill, it really isn't. In a real job interview or professional setting, all these situations could happen. I was also my pledge classes president so a little advice is you are responsible for yourself and your team, so don't work against your team because you end up working against yourself. I am so excited to get to know all of you this quarter!!

Fun Fact: Don't violate our bylaws, I'll know :)

Hi everyone!

My name is Alyna Roshan (she/her) and I am a first-year double majoring in Business Analytics and Economics. I pledged in Fall 2021 because as a business student I wanted to improve my professional skills and expand my network while creating a sense of community alongside like-minded people, and I have met some of the most amazing people!

As someone who pledged recently, my biggest advice to you is just to stick through the process. It will get challenging, but that’s the point - to push you towards really improving your professional and business skills. The Brothers are always there to help and support you in any way possible, make use of your Big Psi to the fullest and get to know your pledge class, you are all in it together. Don’t forget to take the time to really take care of yourself, it will be worth it in the end.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me anytime!

Fun Fact: I have been to the Amazon Rainforest and I hugged a sloth!

Hi Pledges!

I'm Anamaria Ignjatovic (she/her) and I am a junior majoring in Economics with a minor in Finance. I pledged Spring Quarter 2020 in order to get more professional experience and gain connections. Outside of AKPsi I am captain of the Seattle U Dance Team, and am the Chief Compliance Officer for MotMot Coffee.

Though pledging is very challenging, it allowed to grow a lot professionally, and gave me lots of experience with interviews. I now feel very comfortable when presenting myself in a professional matter and am not as nervous during interviews. The connections and opportunities are also great-- I got my first internship through an alum! Outside of that, AKPsi is a great place to meet new friends who share similar interests as you, and you almost always will know someone in your classes. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you, so please don't hesitate to reach out for an interview!

Fun fact: I have an unhealthy addiction to reality tv and true crime. My current obsessions are Selling Sunset and Bad Vegan on Netflix.

I am currently interning at the Washington Policy Center and I have just left a position at Nordstrom. I pledged in the fall of 2019, my freshman year.

Greetings Pledges!
My name is Malisa Nguyen (she/her), I am a first year hoping to become a finance major! I haven't been a brother for that long but membership to this fraternity is incredibly valuable. I pledged fall quarter 2021 with a group of amazing people. I joined the fraternity for meaningful connections and mentors to make my time at Albers enjoyable. Although the pledging process is overwhelming, I recommend you pour everything into it. All the activities that you're doing now will benefit you greatly in the future. Build strong productive habits now and you'll start to see wonderful business skills within yourself. A fun fact about me is that I've made two last meals. (I work in a retirement community as a cook.)

I was born and raised in the Washington area and currently commute to Seattle U from Bothell. I pledged in spring quarter last year because I wanted to enhance my networking and business skills. After spending all of last year remote, I really wanted to get to know the students from the business school. My advice to pledges is do your best!
