There were three things that motivated all explorers and they were Gold ,God,Glory.
My explorer James Cook and his motives were Gold and Glory

GOLD-James cook explored new zealand,Australia and hawaii finding new and interesting fruits, spices, and animals then he brought all of these new things back to the king
COMPARE/CONTRAST- This is comparable to the gold rush where people would go to the western side of the States for gold to bring back to their families and it is different because James took it back for his country and the gold rushers did it for them and their families .

GLORY-James cook went on a lot of expeditions to many places like New zealand and the hawaiian islands he did this to become known for his accomplishments

COMPARE/CONTRAST-This is similar to the exploration of mars because they are discovering multiple new things about mars and want to do it to be known. But it is also very different because when we come back to earth with the info it will be for the U.S and James did on his own and as a way for him to become famous for it and not his country.

James was known for his expert sailing and mapping skills so you would expect him to run into some people on his journeys.
Some ways his nation affected the land they explored was by finding out everything about New zealand either it be the detailed mapping of the island and the surrounding areas including bits of antarctica and with this knowledge he found new tribe called the Maori which unfortunately ending in a few deaths of the people. But because of this it made places to live and the new things .

This is similar to christopher Columbus when he discovered the Americas exploring the area meeting native tribes like the Arawak tribes and documenting their findings when they were there at the time it was also different because they both explored different areas so in turn they would find different things.

My explorers journey helped create cultural blending because when we visited islands in Hawaii he met the natives and told them about his world while also learning about theirs. This is similar to things in the world today where people have stumbled upon hidden villages and such in dense rainforests and the people who found them tell them stories about what life is like in the world outside of the villages

An example of this cultural blending is when james landing in the hawaiian islands and talked and traded their iron to the native people for them to use and james’s crew also shared parts of the christian religion and the natives took some of that knowledge and built their own religions. This is similar to what people have done by creating religions by taking inspiration from other religions and making their own

This kind of thing is happening in the world like in africa with missionaries traveling there to help spread the word of god to remote tribes and villages there.

My explorer helped colonize land for a kingdom when he documented and maped australia having it be the Kings land. This land that they documented later turned into land that allowed a starting colony to start living there.
They colonized that land because they wanted to have more land with inhabitants and grow the kingdom. They moved their either being forced out by the kingdom or by curiosity of what they could find and a new way of living in a new place. Historically when people migrate to a new area the native dont get the good end of it. The native in most cases the majority of the populations usually get kicked out of their homes or killed to make room for the new colonists.

This is similar to the colonization of America when the colonists traveled there and ended up pushing out the indians and their home land to make room for more colonists and their homes.
