5th grade: Assign a project where students research a real-world topic, such as financial literacy or sports statistics, involving decimals. They will collect data, compare the decimals involved, and present their findings along with the methods they used for comparison. This activity engages them in extended thinking as they apply and discuss their understanding in a context beyond the typical classroom setting.

Utilizing the collaboration tools, students can justify their thinking and students of all DOK levels can see what each level looks like. You can also issue challenges and have students "accept the challenge" and try a different DOK level response or question.

Chunking is my favorite way to differentiate. Breaking the information into smaller segments for students seems to help them.

I use the choice board as well. I try to use a variety of platforms that work differently so students can determine how they want to show mastery.

6th Grade History Teacher- Utilize Diffit to generate reading comprehension resources for my students, as well as generating different classroom activities based on those reading passages.

I use the poll tool when presenting a question I want students to answer for quick checks of understanding. I use the poll to assign students to tables (in Engageli). For students who get the answer correct, I provide an independent activity to extend their learning and for those that get it incorrect, I will provide feedback and have another similar question that the students and I will work through together.

I love using Classkick as a tool to differentiate. Students have multiple ways to "show what they know" and the variety of feedback proves helpful in guiding their content mastery.

I use choice boards for my CRE/CTE classes. I also use Nearpod a lot which allows for differentiation options.

I just used it for a 1st grade lesson for next week. I added a youtube video and, I was able to use the multiple choice questions for a Nearpod Time to Climb. Then I used the open-ended question for a collab board on Nearpod. Finally, I did a draw it activity for students to illustrate. (All while in this session)
