I've learned quite a lot with yesterday's meeting with our registrar, although the meeting had some hiccups when it started (with the presentation not being started immediately due to technical issues) it ended up going smoothly in the long run. As far as the presentation goes, it's quite informative, with not too many blocks of text to distract me, and I like the uniform look of the slides. The information was presented well in my opinion, although sometimes it feels a little bit too fast, but thankfully the Q&A at the end was able to answer most of my concerns. I also think it's great that all payments can be made online -- especially considering the current pandemic currently ongoing -- so that most people, much like me who live in the province, won't have to go through the hassle of going all the way to Manila just to pay my tuition fee. I also enjoy how we can email our concerns to the registrar, and they more often that not respond within the same day. The use of edusuite is also a good choice, as it makes most tasks i.e. checking grades and schedules much easier for us students. Overall, it was a good presentation.

Yesterday, we had a presentation regarding taking care of our digital devices and our digital well-being, I personally think that it was important that something like this was discussed since, considering the current state of the world, everything is frozen. None of us are allowed outside so most activities had to be held online, like school, and with the sudden change of learning methods a lot of students might have trouble conforming to this new way of life. Stress combined with the workload of homework and activities can be stressful, so I think it's amazing that we had a presentation like this. The presentation went on smoothly, and even went faster than I had anticipated, nonetheless the information was clear and it really helped me especially since I'm not too used with the whole online class thing going on. Overall, it was a pretty good and effective presentation.

Yesterday during our Self Development and Goal Setting class, we were taught the basics of using and implementing CANVAS for our student lives. The presentation started off pretty smoothly, and so did the rest of the presentation, there weren't much technical difficulty which was great. The presentation as I stated pretty much taught the basics of using CANVAS for both PCs and mobile devices, which was great since I noticed not all of us used laptops which might make it difficult for others to use the mobile app. Overall, the information was presented nicely, the usage of memes was pretty funny and I could even say helped immerse me into the presentation.

Reflection: 7 Habits

During our self dev class yesterday, we were discussed the seven (7) habits of effective people. Which tackled a lot of things many people and teenagers, like me, really need to learn. For starters, I think it's really great that it tackled one of the biggest struggles I have: letting go, in the first habit, we are told to react to things we can control, not things we can't, as dwelling on these things won't help us grow. I may not be able to control what kind of life I was born into, but I can control what I'm going to do with it, which brings it to its next point: begin with the end in mind. What am I going to do with my life? Do I want to make a change, be rich, or reach fulfillment? Another great point was putting first things first, as teens, a lot of us tend to procrastinate before doing important work: whether it be homework or chores, a lot of us tend to admit to do other things first, which I really feel like we should work on. Another point was having a win-win mindset, which is true, it's better to motivate others to win and grow like you instead of bringing them down, which ties in with the next habit of seek first to understand then to be understood, if we want to help others, we should create an environment that's helpful for them and us. That point also ties in to the sixth habit of synergize, instead of fighting we should use those differences to create something new and innovative by seeking other alternatives, which in turn, taps into each person in a team's greatest strength, unlocking their true passion, and enhancing the ability and spirit of each individual.

Reflection: 21st Century Skills

Yesterday, we also tackled 21st century skills: which were a set of skills that were required in order to succeed in our careers. Quite frankly, the skills tackled a lot of insecurities and weaknesses both I and my fellow classmates struggled with, and as hard as it was for me to admit, I was really weak in a lot of these aspects. Communication, innovation, and social skills were really hard for me to improve on, but honestly, if I were to really want to take this path -- especially in the work climate of our current time -- I'd need to overcome these challenges in order to succeed. Therefore, I think it's great that this subject was tackled, I know a lot of teenagers still struggling with these factors in a similar way, but with the help of both our peers and professors, both I and others can succeed.

Reflection: The President

1. Begin with the end in mind
In my perspective, this basically means that I, as a person, should live my life with an end goal in mind: what do I want to do with my life? Do I want to be famous? Do I want to get married at 21? Do I want to travel the world when I retire? I believe that this means that as humans, we should have a quest to achieve, a goal to meet, I mean, if I don't have an end goal...Why would I even bother living? Our life needs to have a purpose.

2. Soft Skills
Soft skills are basically the polar opposite of technical skills, while technical skills refer to being tech savvy or being good at art, soft skills include good social skills, leadership skills, conflict solving, and creativity. It's basically the skills we need to have in a workplace. Personally, this was a bit of a touchy topic for me as I know that I struggle with soft skills myself, but if we want to be able to fit in to a working climate and work with people, these skills are important and should be improved upon. Even in little baby steps, improvement helps in the long run.

3. 4 Things to Focus On
These 4 things to focus on tackled basically what I'd consider the 4 weaknesses a lot of teenagers much like me struggle with. A lot of us tend to be very emotional, especially when stressed, we also are too shy and modest when it comes to presenting our work, we tend to ask professionals about their career often, and we usually only really demand little in ourselves. These were 4 things that I feel like really needed to be worked on, and to be quite frank, I personally feel like it was great that our school President himself would bother to help us with these. In the end, if we really wanted to succeed in our careers, we needed to overcome these struggles to be the best of ourselves in the near future.

1. “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment"
In life, we are more than likely to encounter some challenges, and most of the time these challenges come from within ourselves. Procrastination, a lot of students pride themselves in being PROcrastinators, leaving everything until the last minute, this might've worked in high school, but in the workplace, this is more than likely to be your demise. Half of the time, a lot of the struggles people -- or in this case, teenagers -- are things they inflicted upon themselves, and almost every time it's because of a lack of discipline. If we want to reach our goals, we must learn to instill discipline within ourselves. You can dream and dream about a goal you want to achieve but in the end, if you don't act upon yourself and learn to discipline yourself, you'll never meet that goal. You'll never be able to cross that bridge, if the bridge is broken.

2."We are not studying for school but for life."

School is not something a lot of students inherently like, if anything a lot of us would rather just sleep or do something else. But you know, studying isn't just about finding out the speed in which a truck full of oranges will crash into a wall, it's also a building ground to help and mold us into who we want to be in life. Teachers, faculty, and staff help and give us advice to be better people in the future, teach us how to be model citizens, and even give us links to help ourselves when we get into the professional world. We study not just to be able to pass our history test, but to also teach us to be organized, to schedule things, and most importantly, instill discipline and other important values in life, that we need to have in order to succeed in the future.

The meeting with our school nurse Chen Cadayona today was very informative. She was very nice and her presentation went well, and overall not much technical difficulty. I learned alot about maintaining a nice and balanced diet, especially considering the state of the world today, with almost everyone's schedules being sucked in by work and/or school. A lot of us have seemingly developed lethargic lifestyles thanks to the quarantine, so I was personally happy when she gave us tips to avoid this, such as exercising, having hobbies, and even gave us recommendations on what hobbies to pick up. I also learned some quick stretching exercises to do inbetween classes, since a lot of our time is spent sitting down looking at screens, this simple stretching exercise helps a long way in getting rid of the pains I've personally been experiencing the past few weeks. It's important to take care of myself especially during this pandemic, wherein I have no choice but to spend my time indoors, and not let the constraints of the quarantine get in the way of me being happy and healthy both physically and mentally.

During quarantine, a lot of us turn to video games and Youtube for entertainment, but resting yourself from looking at screens to looking at more screens isn't really the best way to take a rest, so having this meeting with our school librarian was really nice. I really enjoyed how the school implemented the online book borrowing program as a lot of us may not have the resources to go out or are near any places to get books. Wasting your time reading books is definitely a good way to spend it instead of constantly looking at a bright screen for entertainment, not only are you being entertained but you're also learning new things while you're doing so. I also appreciate how we were even given recommendations on what to read. The way to navigate the website was explained thoroughly, but albeit a little fast in the video, so it was good that our speaker repeated it a little slower for those who may not have understood it the first time. Overall, a really nice experience.
