Why is Jesus seen as a radical change agent?

1 Jesus was born as the son of Mary and Joseph, two people who didn't have a great huge stance in the world. He was born in a stable, amongst the livestock and he wasn't rich. Jesus had many reasons to be displeased but he wasn't. Humanity, love, and all that he had were all that mattered to him. Jesus' childhood isn't spoken of in the Bible, but he grew into a man and he made many changes in many different places. Because Jesus was responsible for a lot of changes and differences that were made not just to people, but society as a whole. He changed the way people view the world and their lives, he made enemies and, if the story is true, he was responsible for taking all sin from the world by sacrificing himself for mankind. He was a symbol for freedom, for love and for peace.

Jesus inspired change throughout the world by telling people "what God wants them to do". That society should be accepting of everyone from all backgrounds, that people should be equal and that love should be spread by everyone! Jesus himself was fairly poor. He would not have been seen as a very glamorous, high-standing person in society but people still believed him which made an impact on his followers. He warned people about having no want for change in the world; he wanted them to question things.

Jesus could easily offend priests and other religious people because of what he was saying. Many priests often taught people things but in the wrong way and so what Jesus, the son of God, was saying was contradictory to the priests. This made Jesus a loved but also hated person; the priests hated that he was saying that they were wrong but others were happy that he was helping them live a better life, so Jesus' opinions and actions were taken differently by different people.

Jesus' Worldview.

2Jesus was (obviously) influenced by the Christian perspective as he is the Son of God. His worldview and perception of the world were that humanity was imperfect, unlike what God had intended, but that love was still present in everyone. He opened up his heart and mind to all who asked for help. He healed the sick, gave a question to those who were skeptical and he reminded everyone that they are in control of what they do, which is why they should do the right thing. He believed that everyone deserved a second chance, which is why he gave his life to take away the sins of humanity. Jesus rarely ever got angry, despite many people saying he was a liar and abusing him. Jesus was tested by God himself but he still lived on, preaching to the public. As a Christian, you have God to be there for you when you need help so he can guide you. Jesus' case was no different and he pressed on and achieved his goal; dying for humanity and taking our sins. All of this has significantly influenced Jesus' actions and has made him an even bigger radical change agent. He still affects people in today's society, especially in the lives of Christians.

He risked being arrested, killed, attacked and even being ridiculed by many, many people just so he could help change people's lives. He healed people, led them away from sin and was gifted with a crucifixion. He was selfless and he risked his life and others' too just so he could bring peace. He never made it so a person would be in risk because of him; if they were at risk, it was from their own actions.

What have I found most inspiring about Jesus? How has he challenged your worldview?

Jesus has deeply inspired me to be the best person I can be and to always help others. When someone asks for help, give them that help. When someone is sad or angry, stick with them or give them space. When someone needs you, be there for them. Jesus always helped people be the best they could in the eyes of God and I hope, despite my very mixed feelings about religion, that I can follow his example and be the best I can be. Adding to my previous points, I am also inspired by Jesus because he didn't really have anything. He had little-to-no importance in the world, he was born amongst animals, he was ridiculed and hated by some, and yet, he always kept on doing his work. He kept preaching, he kept praying and he kept believing. This has inspired me to possibly reconsider my view of religion and Christianity.

3 He contested what was being said by people; he reminded people of what was right and wrong and he helped people with getting back on track. He constantly traveled, spreading the word of God and informing people of what God wants from them whilst always being there for people who needed help with sickness, dwindling faith or even just in day-to-day life. Jesus consistently had an open heart and an open mind to go with it. He never ignored anyone because they were different; he treated everyone the way he'd expect them to treat him.

He saw that people were being so horrible and biased in their lives (false worship, hatred, racism, murder, etc.) and he helped fight back by telling people that God has a place for them; a good place. This gave a lot of people hope for a life beyond death.
