Sophia is one of the three main characters in this book. She is Czech and was raised in New Jersey with her parents and three sisters. Her family owned a Deli Shop which she helped out a lot. No one in her family got much of and education, so when she got a scholarship to Wake Forest, she said yes. She is studying Art History and wants to work in a museum.

Luke Collins

Luke is another one of the main characters. He was born and raised on his ranch in North Carolina. He lives with his mother and many farm animals, including a dog, named dog. Luke's father died when he was younger which is part of why Luke rides bulls. His father also rode bulls for a living, Luke took after his father and became a great rider. Until, one year he got injured badly after riding "big Ugly Critter". His hospital expenses were too much money to pay off so now he rides for his mother, to help her pay for the ranch she grew up in.

Ira Levinson

Ira is a ninety-something old man who was once in love with a girl named Ruth. She died eight years ago and he still has not moved on. In the month of February, he got in a bad car crash. It was on a rural road and during the winter so he thought no one would see him under the snow. Since he thought he would most likely die, he had memories of his late wife, Ruth. He thought about the time he first saw her to the day she died. He pictured her right next to him in the passenger, helping him survive. She helped him remember why he needed to survive and why he fell in love with her since the day he saw her.

I chose this as the theme because, all characters were hoping to accomplish something. They all hoped everything would work out great and they wouldn't have anything to worry about.
