1. If a wall was placed around half of Melbourne, people would face various practical problems. People in the East will not be able to travel since they will lack an airport. Also people will be split up from their relatives if they live on the opposite side of the city.

2. The construction of a wall would prohibit your sense of freedom, since you would be unable to travel beyond your part of the city. People would miss their relatives who live on the other side of the wall, and may feel angry that someone is restricting their freedom. Another possible affect was education, if the education facility you attend was on the other side of the wall students would have to relocate to a new facility.
