Climate:
Rainfall, temperature, wind flow, ground moisture, etc. are same of the abiotic factors. Natural grasslands have a precipitation of 500-900 mm / year, whereas, the desert have a rainfall of about 250 mm / year. This rainfall maintains the moisture and interacts with the abiotic factors of the grassland.
The tropical rainforest, however, have rainfall of more than 2000 mm / year. Grasslands can occur in high rainfalls areas where other growths are not that successful due to heavy rainfall.
The climate of the grassland range from cool to hot summers and may even range ice in winter in higher latitudes.
Temperature has a wide spectrum of distribution throughout the world the average temperature of the grassland is form -20 C to 30 C.

Parental materials & soil:
The parental materials refers to the bedrock on which the soil is formed.
The type of bedrock has influence on the type of soil & hence the nutrient value of the soil. Grasslands have a thick layer of humans soil on the top layer of surface which is a storehouse of different minerals and is the region where the recycling of different elements take place through the detritus food chains.
This layer is largely produced due to breakdown of the root structures of plants and plays its role in as the abiotic factors & biotic factors of the grasslands.

Topography: Its the variety of land shape present and is determined by slopes elevation, as peats

Natural Disturbance:
Natural disturbance after grasslands in many ways, affected their species diversity, distribution, community formations, succions etc. Floods during heavy rains scorched conditions in high summers or ice formation in winter all contribute to the grass

Temperate grasslands have a low diversity of wildlife, but have a high abundance of wildlife. Temperate grasslands have hot summers and cold winters. Summer temperatures can be well over 100 degrees fahrenheit, while winter can be as low as -40 degrees fahrenheit and most of it is snowfall and typically can have 10-35 inches of precipitation a year.

Big cats such as cheetahs, lions hunt prey in temperate grasslands. In north america, wolfs, coyotes, and foxes hunt for mice, rabbits and deer. These predators help keep the populations of grazing animals in check so they won't eat all the grass. The grasslands of north america used to provide millions of buffalo, antelope, deer, gazelles, rabbits, skunks, and all of the smaller mammals like prairie dogs, and badgers, with food but few remain do to hunters killing most of them in the 1800s.

One of the dangers have recently have been upon us and that's drought! It has really affected our environment in a way that plants and animals don't have enough water to drink and has really reduced the population of animals and plant life. The solutions that we thought of was protect and restore wetlands, which are an important part of a grassland ecosystem. Another way we can help is to prevent soil erosion and plant trees as windbreaks.
