]]> 2013-03-05 16:12:26 UTC https://padlet.com/smorris/uergfod1nq/wish/7748909 lrushton https://padlet.com/smorris/uergfod1nq/wish/7872648 I actually think that this poem seems rather sinister.  It appears that the 'Bride' of the title is perceived as 'odd' by both the farmer, and the local community.  She tries her best to escape, and the people of the village return her to have her locked away ("turned the key upon her, fast.").  By the last stanza, it appears that the farmer is driven quite mad by her physical presence in the house, and suggests he may try to take her by force to satisfy his desire for her.
