This unit was most enjoyable, as we learned a lot about Atmosphere & Weather., Heating the Atmosphere, and Weather is over a short period of time, weather is constantly changing,Climate is over a long period of time, climate is a composite of weather over a long time-frame. Important Elements of weather & climate, Temperature, Humidity, Cloudiness, Precipitation, Air Pressure, Wind Speed Direction. What is air: Air is a mixture of discrete gases, Nitrogen 78%, Oxygen 21%, Argon & Other traces of gases 1%. Carbon Dioxide .039%, CO2 is a Greenhouse Gas. Variable components of Air: Water Vapour, Makes up as much as 4% of the Volume of air, Source of all louds, fog, precipitation, Absorbs heat energy from Earth and the Sun. Aerosols, Tiny solid and liquid particles, includes: dust, smoke, pollution, water droplets, volcanic ash, clay, pollen, sea salt. Ozone (O3) Ozone layer is within the stratosphere, the second layer of the atmosphere, Absorbs harmful UV radiation, Chloro-flouro-carbons (CFCś) used as propellants, are depleting the ozone layer. Hole in the ozone layer, Air pressure is the weight of the overlying atmosphere, Average air pressure at sea level is 14.7 psi, Air pressure decreases with altitude. Structure of atmosphere, troposphere, bottom layer, weather occurs, temperature decreases with altitude. Environmental Lapse rate 3.5 degrees F. Temperature decrease for every 1000 foot increase in altitude. Stratosphere, next layer above troposphere ozone layer, T increases at the top due to the ozone layer, volcanic ash from large eruptions can settle in the stratosphere and block incoming solar radiation.. Mesosphere, above the stratosphere, T decreases with altitude. Thermosphere, Outer layer, above the Mesosphere, Outer limit is not well defined. Heat Transfer, earth surface is heated unequally, more so at the equator and less at the poles. Heat always transfer from warmer to cooler objects. Vocabulary words: Conduction Convection, Radiation, Electromagnetic Radiation., Atmospheric Heating, Absorption, Reflection, Sattering, Greenhouse gases,: H2O Vapour, CO2 Carbon Dioxide, CH4 Methane, Natural Gas, Hydro-Flouro-carbon used as propellants instead of CFCs and HFCś. Three States of Matter: Solid, Liquid, Gas, To change state heat must be absorbed or released. Evaporation, Condensation. Melting, Freezing, Sublimation, Deposition. Humidity amount of water vapour in the air, Saturated air that is filled with water vapour to capacity. Relative humidity, 100% relative humidity. Warm air rises less dense, Cold air sinks more dense. Fronts part of a storm system called mid latitude cyclones. Stable Air, Unstable air., clouds, aimasses, Fog, Rime, Coriolsiis effect, winds, Jet stream, Gulf-Stream Four types of Air-masses: Continental Polar, Continental tropical, Maritime Polar, Maritime Tropical. In this unit, I learned about climate change, fronts, and weather. Climate change is a long term thing and weather is a short term thing that happens. Their is local, regional, and global weather and climate change. This unit was very helpful because I know the difference between weather and climate change. Their are four fronts I have learned about. These fronts are cold, warm, stationary, and occluded fronts. These fronts brings different types of weather. Occluded brings snow, stationary brings clear skies, warm fronts bring thunderstorms, and Cold fronts bring rain. The material was presented well.

In this unit, I liked everything. We learned about fronts, climates and how natural disasters are formed. The was we learned the material was great, I like how we had interactive slides and how we would complete them in the zoom meetings. (Iyana Robinson; 5/3/2021 ; 8:53 am)

This uint was the best i got to learn fronts different front names and also learned in the unit that front is The boundary between two air masses that have different temperatures or humidity.

In this unit I have learned how to determine the difference between Natural Resources, Renewable and Nonrenewable resources. There was nothing I did not like about this unit. A lot of things I like about the unit are the differences between the different resources and what type of resource they were apart of. An example of this is Oil and Coal are a source of Nonrenewable energy because it can not be infinitly created

The unit gave me extra knowledge about things I knew but it also introduced new terms as well. I liked acquiring new information, but I didn't like that we didn't have much guidance. The material could have been instructed better but other than that, I don't think I noticed much.

This past unit has been simple and pretty easy so far it was well presented towards us students. It was not just information given to u to copy down but also questions on lots of quizzes so that information from these units are stuck in our heads for a good while.

During this unit, I have learned many things that can help me in future units. I learned more in depth explanations of renewable and nonrenewable resources. I liked learning about how to acquire or how resources work. In the end, there was nothing that I didn't like because it was all fun to learn. Unit 4 was a very enjoyable unit.

i learned a lot from this unit i learned more in depth about the layers of the atmosphere and how heat is transfer i found it very fun to learn about.

i feel i could easily talk about what i have learned but i think i would need to look over some things but i enjoyed the unit!

I learned much from this unit, I have a more clear understanding of symbiosis, process of a food web/food chain, and succession. There were no problems during this unit other than me lacking effort to turn in some assignments.(I apologize for the inconvenience)

In unit 6, I've learned so much about the atmosphere! The main subject i've learned a lot about is air masses. I never really understood air masses back in middle school, but unit 6 really helped me understand it. What I did not really like about this unit was tornadoes and hurricanes. I feel like the basics and everything about them have already been covered since elementary school. But overall, Unit 6 was really helpful to my understanding of some things.
