At first when I was in line waiting my turn, I felt a little scared in my stomach. I was getting nervous. But
then I saw my other friends do it so I thought it must be okay. I began running and jumped and my neck latched to my friends neck and I flipped through the air
and landed in the water. I felt really proud of myself for jumping in front of my friends when I was nervous to start.

Waiting for the signal to head up the ramp. We are filled with excitement as we wait in the room. Then we hear the sound; the signal; the call. We walk out of the room up the ramp and to the diving boards. I was ready for what was coming.
 

I ran first, going straight for the diving board. I latched onto the other giraffe and flipped in the air, landing head first in the water. Then coming up for air. As I look up I see all of my friends diving and diving. Flipping, spinning in harmony. It was amazing.

          And then there were a few more of my kind left. They did such beautiful turns and jumps in the water. The splashes were like the best meditation of your life.They all lined up and were ready to move on…...

I can’t wait, I say to myself. I see some others as I walk out of my cage. We all silently walked up the big circular hallway in a perfectly- straight line. We stop. He looks back. then waits for the one giraffe that is upside down and gets ready.

     He is ready. The first giraffe gets a running start and hooking his chin onto the others chin and does a front flip into the pool. I am up next! I can't wait! I start to run and then take a bid jump to the other giraffe. We connect chins and then he pushes me away. I did a cool looking back flip and landed into the pool. Once we were all done we lined up and got some water to drink then it was time to end this exciting day!

Each of them had a beautiful diving form as they glided through the air and into the water. As if an Olympic diver were doing it, they made nearly as much sound, only that I could hear the ripples of water. I was almost next. I realized that none of the other giraffes here were scared or afraid of what might happen. Neither was I. Although I thought that this was a very “strange” environment for us giraffes to be in. I was standing in line on a ramp staircase like thing that was in a swimming pool, standing there like I couldn’t wait but after every sound of ripples in the water, one giraffe after another, it was getting close to me. I saw the grip that we had to launch out of. Everyone here is seriously enjoying all of this. SO AM I! I see my turn awaiting. THIS IS THE TIME TO SHINE! I run. I look at the grip of the other giraffe’s neck. I grab and TAKE OFF. I fly into the air and turn my body into a shape that would look painful to a giraffe but also very beautiful. I fall as if I were in slow motion and I flip very slowly but surely in mid-air, but at the last minute I do a rapid flip finish and sloosh into the water like the others and then I glide through the water to the surface. Then a second grip comes down to the second diving board and everything just goes twice as fast and twice as beautiful. I am that kind of giraffe that makes everyone drop open their mouths and just fascinate everyone.
