At the start of the month, I've introduced our monthly theme, and for the month of March my library reading and inquiry target is to learn about women in history. For this week, we focused on Science and Mathematics and read about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson. In the PreK-2, I have been promoting the Little People, Big Dreams series, and this is one of the books I read for the PreK-2 students.

Unplugged Coding task for this week is very timely as I was able to use one of the activities to extend the reading activity with my preschoolers. I found a different site that is similar to Binary Bracelet that I was able to pull out from the website.
I explained to the students how Ada used coding (language) to expand the use of the analytical machine (calculator) that was invented using "binary" codes.

We started by breaking the parts by identifying the binary numbers: 0 and 1 that represents the letter. I explained the process step by step while modeling it to the students. After they've seen the process. Students went ahead to get their materials and work on their secret letter code.
