<title>Rosenthal and Jacobson studied in 1968 the effects of a self fulfilling prophecy on elementary students. This was done by labeling students randomly as academic bloomers and non bloomers. Because of the dichotomy of treatment between these two groups, the bloomers IQ increased due to a more enriched environment whereas the non bloomers did not.</title>

<title>Rosenthal and Jacobson performed an experiment in 1968 to investigate the self fulfilling prophecy in teachers who believed certain students are academic bloomers. It was found that teachers were more inclined to give the &quot;bloomers&quot; special attention with their work; therefore giving these students an advantage over others. Which, helped increase these student&#39;s IQ levels. This supports the self fulfilling prophecy because the teachers had believed in a stereotype about a group of students which influenced the way the teacher&#39;s had interacted. Thus, making the original stereotype about the &quot;academic bloomers&quot; become true since their IQ had increased more than their peers.</title>
