One character I've seen display love, integrity, faith & excellence is the prophet, Elijah. He has displayed love from when he has taken the call from God & prophesied to turn Israel back from apostasy. That is a display of love because he obeyed God and was willing to follow His will, obedience is a form of love because that means we are willing to heed whatever command. 

Elijah exhibits integrity when he convicts King Ahab of killing Naboth to steal his vineyard. For me, that is a sign of integrity as integrity means choosing to do what is righteous, whether someone is watching or not & he truly was able to adhere to honesty.

He then sets forth the principle of faith when he stood against the prophets of Baal & had confidence God would be with him & prove His existence. Day & night, the prophets of Baal prayed for their god to show a sign but there was nothing. When it was Elijah's turn, he prayed, had faith in God that he would give a sign of His spirit & he deemed correct when God sent a pillar of fire from Heaven.

Lastly, he displays excellence when he carried out his role as a prophet of God. He diligently & willingly carried out God's orders & pleased Him for His glory, he excellently brought about all of God's commands and obeyed Him despite his life being in threat under King Ahab. He persevered & glorified God.

Elijah made a positive difference by instilling the same faith he had in God to the people who were doubting the Lord. Although not stated, his conviction may have convinced the other people to believe in God & His competency as our Father.

The prophet Elijah's story can help our class be more persevering and diligent as we are students for God. Elijah's faith & trust in God can help us have more faith & certainty. His story can enhance how we perpetuate our tasks, are we doing it for the sake of accomplishing it, or are we doing it to gratify God's name?

Just like Elijah, we must focus on God & obey Him wholeheartedly & without reluctance.

1. In what sense were love, integrity, faith, and excellence lived out by the Bible character?
   1. The man who really struck me the most while watching the video of the overview of 1 Kings to 2 Kings was Elijah. This is because He was the only one who stood up for his faith, even if it meant that he had to die doing so. He lived out the value of love through his confrontation with Ahab’s injustice to the Isreaelite family he murdered. He served his people with love. Not just because God told him to do so, but because he has a burden for his people who are being enslaved.
   2. He also did not submit to other gods and comply with the people’s false faiths. Instead, he was bold enough to stay true to his faith and to God. By doing that, Elijah showed the value of integrity.
   3. I observed that faith is Elijah’s core value. With his strong faith in God, he was able to show love, integrity, and even excellence. I can say this because in everything he did and accomplished, it was because of God and he believed that as well. That's what makes him stand out the most out of all the characters in Kings, because He was the only one who maintained faith in God. He showed his faith by challenging the god of the 450 prophets of Baal to see which God was real. And because of his faith, only his altar answers with fire.
   4. Elijah exhibited excellence through his works for God. He ensured that with whatever situation or circumstance he is in, he made sure that he accomplished all that he can to show God’s glory. Just like it was mentioned in the video, he didn’t let the unjust death of an Israelite family go in vain. He confronted Ahab, the one who ordered to murder them. With that act, I believe that he has shown excellence.

1. His character made a positive impact on his community by showcasing that the God he serves is alive by challenging the false god of the 450 prophets. Not only that, he was also one of the few people in Kings who stood up for the Israelites against the unfaithful kings who allowed horrible events and injustice in the kingdom.

As LAI learners who are privileged enough to study in a Christian school, the story of Elijah should encourage us and help us to be bold in reaching out to those who don’t acknowledge the existence of God. As we are being prepared for the outside world, we should start as early as now in spreading the gospel and to extend a helping hand to those who need God.

• Hezekiah loves God the Lord by obeying God's will and doing what is right in the sight of the Lord.

• Hezekiah  has God in his heart so he knows what is right to do.

• As the army of Assyria wanted to win the city, Hezekiah is not afraid, he encouraged his army by saying "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles."(2 Chronicles 32:7-8)

• Hezekiah cleansed the house of the lord he went to the cities of Judah, and broke the wicked symbols in pieces, cut down the wooden idols, and threw down the high places and alters.(2 Chronicles 31)
