Without wanting to make myself sound the victim, escaping domestic abuse had left me with "issues" with myself and my appearance. In short, I hate everything about myself and the thought of a self portrait fills me with fear. A camera is a handy piece of kit to hide behind!

After trying a few other methods trying to create my self portrait, this is the image I am choosing to submit.

I set out to create a self portrait I felt comfortable doing and without realising at the time, created a similar image to the one I used when researching famous self portraits. Unlike Vivians image which is quite cluttered and untidy, mine is relatively tidy. I imagined Vivians image to be a refection of her life. I took this image in my 17 year old daughter's room and I again I think it could reflect her life. She is organised and knows the path she wants to take in life. I don't even have a bedroom! I sleep on a sofa bed in the front room and it's always messy, just like my life!
