For the Multi-Genre Project, I chose to study Traditional Chinese Medicine. The reason I chose it was because I have always been interested in how the traditional techniques work, and wanted to learn about the history and preservation of these practices. My main questions were: How does acupuncture effect the nervous system?, How do these practices play a role in aligning the qi and energy in the body?, When did TCM originate and how did it evolve?, and Are Chinese herbs effective? Traditional Chinese Medicine is a system of healing one's body through different techniques that heal the body as a whole and realign the energy. Stagnant energy in the body leads to disease. There are many different practices that are used to heal someone such as moxibustion, acupuncture, herbs, movement, and nutrition. Over thousands of years, the practices have been refined and understood in order to continue to be used and be applicable in this century.

I chose to make a Prezi presentation, a timeline, and an infographic recipe. I chose these because I felt they would be the best options to show my research in an organized way that answers my main questions. I found learning how to put together my pieces the most difficult because I had to learn how to use the new programs such as Prezi, which was a little confusing. It was easy to research and find information on this topic because it has been around for so long and there were a lot of scholarly articles and photos online. I had to decide which questions were going to be answered in which presentation and I think by combining the information that I did in the Prezi, it made it very strong.

Overall, I feel very proud of my project and am happy with how much I learned which researching it, I wish there was more time so I could learn more about the science of the herbs and acupuncture and why our bodies react to it. If I were to do something like this again, I would have liked to stepped outside my comfort zone a little more and done a more creative project such as a poem or collage, but for this assignment I am happy with what I did and I think it conveys my message very clearly. I hope my project helps the reader to further understand traditional medicine practices and how they are still relevant and used today.
