Thomas Byrne: What, are you kidding me? I revolutionized the interrogation process with my ‘third degree’ method. I deserve this position!

Roosevelt: Well I’ve been brought in to fight corruption in the police force. While your intense and brutal interrogation is a game change, it is no secret that people believe you are corrupt. I mean come on, what police officer earns that much money?

Byrnes: Oh come on, I swear the only reason I’m rich because I take advice from my New York investor friends. I am the best at what I do and even if you take my job I will create my own detective company and do things way better than you.

Roosevelt: Whatever, I’m not stupid and I know you have brought corruption into the police force. Take your crooked tactics elsewhere, your time in the NYPD is over. 

Byrnes: Whatever, your loss. My private detective company is going to be incredible anyways.

This conversation took place when Theodore Roosevelt took over Byrnes position of commissioner of New York police in order to fight corruption. Byrnes was known as a corrupt police officer.
