The Seventh Commandment is most often violated by students in my opinion. When students type papers or answer open ended questions, they often copy the answers from other websites and don't cite the source, using the answer as their own.

These violations of the commandments occur because there is not always a monitoring presence to watch your every move when on a computer. You are free to do what you want on the internet, and with that freedom people steal information, harm others, and breach privacy. The Internet is much like the world; there are morals that we should observe, and sometimes we break those morals.

Contrary to belief, I don't think we can reduce or eliminate unethical behavior online without attacking our freedoms. We could possibly give computer users a credit score system, where if it found that they are in violation of the commandments so much that their score falls below a certain threshold, then they will face repercussions. This could work, but it requires surveillance on everyone using computers and eliminates anonymity and freedom to do whatever on the web.
