In traditional Korean culture, boys are often privileged over girls. I saw this happen a lot when I visited my relatives as a child. My aunt would serve food to the my uncles and even my 8-year-old nephew before the women. When I talked to my parents about this, they agreed that this was an unfair and outdated tradition. I decided that I would teach my own children differently in the future.

Archery

When I was 8 my brother and I started archery. The only other time I did archery was in my backyard and I accidentally shot the arrow into neighbors house and had to walk over there and apologize soon after that we went to a store made to do archery in and my family and I went to Los Vegas to compete with hundreds of other people.

Failing a test

Everyone you know and are around each and everyone has at least failed a test once but when it happens to you it feels different and could add more stress than needed. In 8th the year I came back from online school everything felt harder for me and one of those things were test especially in my math class. I would try everything I could to bring my grade up and do better on the test and so I than started to go to extra help everyday and during my lunch period until I got it I got my first hundred of the year. When I failed the other ones I didn't stop and just give up I continued to work hard until it paid off.

Clothes

In 4th grade after my house burned down everyone in my class and many people for the neighborhood gave my family and I clothes and other necessities and it made me appreciative of everything I had and the people around me.

Family

When I am with my family all I can think about is the time I am taking to spend with them. When we play board games together times goes by so fast. We love to watch movies together and just hangout in the living room and talking about nothing important just what ever comes to us at that time. In my house I am almost never in my room I am always hanging out or doing something with the people that I love.

My house

Something that led to personal growth is my house. My house has been through it. It was built in the 60s then burned down in 2018 and then rebuilt in 2019. This house has been through a lot and even though the house is not the same one it shows me that I have been through. My house burning down is a huge part of me it is the reson I am who I am that I appreciate everything I own because I know what it is like to lose it in a second. But even with that it is important to never lose your hope because that is what keeps yourself.
