When the water in which magnesium is&nbsp; put is heated the reaction takes place. When the water is hot Magnesium hydroxide is formed and  hydrogen gas is liberated. The reaction will increase as the solution is heated and Magnesium hydroxide is formed turns purple&nbsp;and the bubbles then seen are not hydrogen but steam.</div>]]></description>
