Pi, a devoted vegetarian, never believed he would find himself trying to catch as many fish as possible with his bare hands; however, (semicolon; transition, )to live, he must abandon his faith. This is extremely difficult for Pi, a devoted Hindu, Muslim, and Christian, so Yann Martel using pluralism creates this illusion of Richard Parker, an embodiment of Pi’s immoral actions and animalistic behavior.
