I hate wet and rainy days. It rained a lot in 1816.... a lot - like every day; the weather in Europe was abnormally wet because it rained in Switzerland on 130 out of the 183 days from April to September. If I was Mary Shelley I might decide to write a book too. After all, it was the only thing you could do without TV or anything. She said that she "passed the summer of 1816 in the environs of Geneva...we occasionally amused ourselves with some German stories of ghosts... These tales excited in us a playful desire of imitation"

The quote you chose was great, but I think you can utilize it better in your response. First of all, you can cite where specifically she said that for more context. The quote itself is speaking to how she spent time with those around her in the summer of 1816, so perhaps you could focus more on what she did do and embed your quote throughout it. I also really like how you contextualized the weather and rainy season, but it would carry more merit if you quoted/cited your statistic about the 130/183 days of rain.

The quote chosen works nicely, however, the utilization of it was weak. In order to have a stronger response, utilizing the quote effectively would be the best choice. To do this, you should embed the quote into your response rather than citing it in its entirety. By doing so, it strengthens what you are saying rather than using it solely as a method of credibility.

The quote you used fits the overall theme of your passage, but the contents of the quote can be embedded into your writing to help it flow better and be less jarring, in terms of going from your ideas to the quote's ideas. Since the you and the quote talk about passing the time, you can split the quote up based on that idea, and use Shelley's words (in quotations) and your own as one topic of a sentence, allowing your passage to flow better.
